"ROWAN, SHIELD ME NOW."
Rowan pulled up his chest, tightened his grip and moved in front of Aurelion.
Selene stood tall opposite to him.
Rowan prepared himself to get hurt, beaten and even torture.
IF IT IS FOR MIRA, IT'S WORTH IT.

Rowan made himself believe in his mind.

All he saw was just the fact something moved past him in an Undefying Speed.
He turned behind and saw Selene teleported in front of Aurelion. Same Aurelion, he was shielding mili seconds before.
"YOU" Selene growled.
"You, Where wer—" Selene paused.
And then.
"My baby. Wah, waah - waaaahhhh."
"My Moon was missing."
She started crying.
"I was not missing, mother." Aurelion cleared.
"No, you were."
"You were missing from eyes."
"Sob sob. Do you know I looked all over the palace and couldn't find my little moon."
"My Baby." She hugged Aurelion tightly pressing his chest.
"I... I can't breat—" She pulled him even closer.
YUP, I'M GONNA DIE AGAIN.
Aurelion thought.
"Rowan, I thought I told you to protect me." Aurelion expressed.
"Protect him? Protect him from who?"
Rowan was completely oblivion to the situation and was flabbergasted about what to do next.
Then, he decided to gather some information first before reacting.
He leaned towards Lyra. Mira was still sound sleep despite how chaotic the situation was.
"What is exactly going on here, Maid?" He asked finally.
"Maid??? Just to be clear I have a name, you cheeky brat."
"Brat" he reacted confusingly.
then Lyra continued.
"as for what's happening here it's just the regular sort of thing,her Majesty does."
"The thing is she is Infatuated with his highness. Her affection has no bounds so whenever His Highness is not in front of her, she gets anxious and panics. Mostly it's crying, sobbing and feeling hungry but sometimes things take a turn for the worse but that's something you don't need to know."

"Ahh right you will love to hear one thing. So, this happened one time when his highness was four. She was sleeping soundly, when she was suddenly hit by a nightmare regarding his highness. She never told her what it was but just know that the whole palace was on her head that day and even her brother and father had to come so late at night to comfort her."
Well, while all of this was going on, Aurelion was still struggling for breath.
"Mother... Mother, please stop. I am seeing a granny calling me across the river."
Selene made her grip slightly loose.
Sob sob
"Waaah, waaa. Now you are even talking formally."
Aurelion made the crying worser.
"Mommy... I mean mommy."
"Ok mommy, stop now. I'm fine, I am telling you I am fine." Aurelion calmed her down.
"*Sob* *sob* So, Where were you all this time?"
"I was just out to explore." Aurelion answered.
"Explore?" Selene asked with curiosity.
"Yeah, nothing much. Just went out to the market."
"Market? But we have everything you need in the palace, little moon."
I KNEW THIS WAS A BAD IDEA, YOUR HIGHNESS. BUT WHAT CAN THIS CUTE LITTLE MAID OF YOURS DO WHEN YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SUCH A NAUGHTY AND STUBBORN CHILD.

Lyra giggles thinking this while watching from the sidelines.
"I did not went out to buy something, mother. I went out to immerse and gather information.'
Aurelion said with a sincere look on his face.

Selene called Aurelion by his name which portrayed the seriousness in her questioning.
If Aurelion gave her an answer which did not satisfy her mood then, he would be surely getting punished and Aurelion realized this himself too at the moment.
Aurelion took a deep breath before answering and calmed himself.
Then, proceeded to answer.
"Mother, I went out today. No, I sneaked out today becaus—"
"So, you did it deliberately then." Selene interrupted.
"Yes, that's the truth and I won't try to hide it."
WELL, EVEN I TRY TO. IT IS NOT EXACTLY A EASY THING TO FOOL AN ARCHMAGE. I KNOW YOU'LL PROBABLY USE A LIE DETECTION SPELL OR SOMETHING.

"So, first of all, I have never went out of the Palace. I wanted to see for myself what's the world like out there." This is true since, he's pretty much locked up.
"I wanted to study the outside world so, I can expand the horizons of my Mystic Heart, that way I can become an Archmage as soon as possible so, I can fulfill your wish sooner." Yeah, you guys guessed it correctly, this one is a lie. He just wanted to hang out and have fun.
"That was not the only reason, I wanted to immerse myself into the life of common people, our people. So, I can experience the difficulties they experience in their day to day life and what I can do to improve it." This one is surprisingly true but the difficulty he is mentioning here is lack of Cola and contributes to absolutely nothing though Rowan who was giving constant sidelooks had a little change of heart after listening this.
"If you believe that I have sinned, then go ahead and punish me, mother." Yeah, now he's just acting dramatically to save his skin.

"I promise, mother. I will inform from now on."
"Yes, my little moon. Come here, give mommy a hug."
Selene hugged Aurelion even though he did not reply yes to her.
YES, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU SHOULD DO, MY BABY. MAGIC AND BEING ARCHMAGE SHOULD BE YOUR PRIORITY NOT SOME BRUTE STUFF LIKE SWORDPLAY. Selene thought cunningly while she was still hugging Aurelion.
Eventually, she stood back up.
"WHO ARE THESE KIDS THOUGH?"
