Keifer's POV
We gathered with the Section E guys in the school backyard. Edrix was trying to find Jay's old school records.
Edrix: Fuck.
I approached the computer and read the first thing I saw.
Keifer: Did she stab her classmate with a pen?
Edrix: She also beat her classmate to near death, put one of her friends in a coma—he's still receiving treatment in the hospital—and got involved in street fights outside of school.
Keifer: And 15 violations, and 8 expulsions from school.
(My inner voice)
Why and how did she do it? When I looked at the records a little more closely, all her middle school records looked clean—there were even a lot of certificates, awards, and competitions representing her school. But then what could have happened?
Yuri: Wow, exactly suitable for Section E.
(My inner voice)
He was right, but no… we don't know what she's planning yet. She's hiding something from us, and I need to find out what it is.
David: Do you think what happened in the bathroom proves these things she did?
Keifer: I don't know.
Eren: What happened there anyway?
Ci-N: It's not important, forget it.
(One Day Later)
Jay's POV
I woke up at 6:00 in the morning so I wouldn't be late. Half an hour later I went to the bathroom, got out of the bathroom, got dressed, and checked my phone. Only Dolay (the middle school bully who never liked Jay and turned the whole class against her) had messaged. Jay decided to read a few messages.
Sender: Dolay
Hey Jay, can you give the phone to the person next to you? We want to tell her what a lying dirty bitch you are.
Sender: Dolay
Diwata (the friend who betrayed Jay during her hardest time in middle school, confessed she never liked her when everyone was against Jay, and left her to join the other side) asked me to pass on a message: "Jay, what do you do to make people love you? Or when you couldn't do it to us, did you fall at their feet or something?"
Sender: Dolay
Jay Ligaya (the middle school classmate with sky-high ego who thinks she's something special, hates Jay, and makes up lies about her) wants to tell you something: "Jay, after all the things you did in high school, I can't believe they let you into this school, but you'll probably get expelled from there too, bully."
I was about to read the rest but that's enough. Besides, who are they calling a bully? My biggest bullies were them. While I was lost in deep thoughts, Aries shouted:
Jasper Jean Mariano, come here right now!
I was about to grab my maroon jacket but changed my mind
—I didn't want to wear the same jacket as that king of bastards (Keifer), so I took my dark navy jacket… After eating, I went to school.
As I entered through the school gate, a storm was raging inside me. Whispers in the corridors… Everyone was looking at me again. But this time it was different. As if they knew something.
When I entered the classroom, Keifer was sitting at his desk, arms crossed, eyes locked directly on me. Next to him were Yuri, Edrix, Ci-N… They were all there. And their looks… full of suspicion.
Keifer stood up, slowly approached me. He spoke in a low voice, but everyone could hear.
"Jay… We learned some things from your old school last night."
My heart started racing. "What did you learn?"
"Stabbing with a pen. Coma. Street fights. 8 expulsions… Chaos Queen."
My eyes filled up but I swallowed my tears. "And? What's going to happen now? Do you think I care? Whatever, get out, class is about to start."
Keifer took one more step, our faces almost touching. There was anger in his eyes, but underneath it… worry?
"No," he said firmly. "But stop hiding it. Tell us the truth. Why are you here? Why Section E? And why… why are you still so angry?"
I swallowed.
I don't want to talk about this but… I just… changed. My grandmother got sick because of me. That's why I changed. But the past won't leave me alone."
Yuri cut in. "And us? Don't you think we're protecting you?"
Ci-N in a soft voice: "Jay… We are Section E. Chaos is our thing. But your chaos… it doesn't scare us. We just want to understand."
Right at that moment the door opened. The principal's assistant came in. "Jasper Jean Mariano… The principal is urgently calling you."
While walking
A voice inside me… Dolay's messages came to mind. And someone from my old school might have come here. Or worse… someone from Section E had exposed my secrets?
When we entered the principal's office, there was a file on the desk. And inside… my old school photos. But the worst part: In one of the photos, in the background, a familiar silhouette—this was Cyrus, the guy I put in a coma…
