I just sat behind my desk in total, suffocating silence, staring into the dark while the beast beneath my skin clawed violently at my ribs.
News travelled fast in this academy. The Student Council's decision had reached us in minutes, even before Principal Vale made an official announcement.
A prize. A date.
Our mate being paraded as a trophy for pubescent boys to hunt.
The rage wasn't just my own. Through our mindlink, my brothers' fury battered against my skull.
I couldn't see what they were doing, but I could feel it—a massive, volatile spike of adrenaline from Xander, followed by a freezing, suffocating wave of pure dominance from Xade.
I could only imagine the physical weight the students around them were enduring.
"I'll kill them," Xander's voice finally growled through the mindlink, raw and bleeding with pure instinct. "I'll rip the throat out of anyone who tries to touch her."
