Chapter 27: The Judgment of the Ghost Knight
Our story begins exactly where the previous chapter ended.
The moment the name Ghost Knight is heard, chaos spreads across the entire city.
People shut their doors in fear…
soldiers' hands begin to tremble.
Then—
Thak… Thak… Thak…
The sound of Ghost Knight's footsteps echoes through the palace halls.
Not a single soldier dares to attack him.
The leader of the Lee Family steps forward and falls to his knees—
"I made a mistake… please forgive me…"
Ghost Knight says nothing and calmly sits on the throne…
as if the man standing before him does not even exist.
For the first time, his full form is revealed—
blood-soaked white clothes,
deep black eyes,
long hair,
a sword in his hand…
and a red aura rising from his body,
painting the entire palace in the color of blood.
Ghost Knight:
"Tell me… what is your mistake?"
Lee Family Leader:
"I supported another family in killing your friend…
We did not know he was not an ordinary man…
We didn't know he was your friend…
Please, do not destroy my entire family…"
Ghost Knight:
"Who are you calling an ordinary man?"
In anger, his red aura flares violently,
and everyone trembles in fear.
Ghost Knight stares into the Lee Family leader's eyes.
As their gazes meet, the leader's eyes begin to glow red.
Ghost Knight:
"Go… kill your entire family with your own hands.
Do not spare even the children.
Kill them all."
Jhag Lee:
"Okay, Master."
He picks up his sword and walks away.
Jhag goes to his family.
Family Members:
"What happened?"
Without a word, Jhag Lee slashes his wife's throat.
The family members freeze in shock and try to run.
Jhag Lee's youngest son, only seven years old, runs toward him—
"Papa, what are you doing—"
Without hesitation, Jhag Lee cuts off his son's head.
Jhag Lee:
"There is only one rule… everyone must die."
Within moments, he kills them all.
The entire palace is filled with corpses.
He stands there, drenched in blood.
He gathers the heads of his family in a cloth
and carries them to Ghost Knight,
placing them at his feet.
Jhag Lee:
"Master… your work is done."
Ghost Knight claps slowly—
"Well done."
As soon as he claps, Jhag Lee regains control.
Jhag Lee looks at his blood-stained clothes.
Then he sees the scene before him…
He falls backward in horror.
"Wh-what… what have I done…?"
In front of him lie the severed heads of his family.
It feels as if the ground has been pulled away from beneath his feet.
Jhag Lee:
"What did you do to me?!"
Ghost Knight:
"Nothing special…
I simply made you kill your own family with your own hands."
Jhag Lee:
"This isn't true!
I could never kill my family!"
He cries in despair.
Ghost Knight (with an evil smile):
"It was very entertaining to watch you kill them…
while they screamed for help…"
"Today was a very enjoyable day."
Jhag Lee:
"Why did you do this?
You killed innocent children just for your own pleasure!"
Ghost Knight:
"I didn't do it…
You did."
