After countless explanations, Jiraiya's patience was completely worn out. He angrily cursed at Naruto, whose eyes were still spinning. "It's like this, then this, then this—not like that, then that, then that! Your father learned it in one go back then. How many times do I have to tell you before you understand?!"
"It's clearly because you're not explaining it clearly enough. Can't you make it simpler?"
Naruto had heard Jiraiya explain the Flying Thunder God Technique hundreds of times, but he still didn't understand a single bit of the technique's principle. He finally lost his temper, threw his hands up, and said, "What kind of crappy Ninjutsu is this? It's completely boring. I'm not learning it!"
"Not learning it… Alright then."
When Jiraiya heard Naruto's words, not only did he not get angry, he actually felt a sense of relief.
He finally understood that Ninjutsu like the Flying Thunder God—techniques that involved seals, Chakra application, space-time theory, and Sealing Techniques, requiring vast foundational knowledge—were completely unsuitable for Naruto.
This kid was only suited to learn Ninjutsu that required forming hand seals and directly applying Chakra.
Or techniques that didn't even require hand seals at all.
Jiraiya thought for a moment, then said, "Since you can't—don't want to—learn the Flying Thunder God Technique, then I'll teach you another Ninjutsu instead."
"Really?"
Naruto's eyes lit up immediately. He cautiously asked, "It won't be some messy Ninjutsu like the Flying Thunder God again, will it?"
"Messy…"
Jiraiya's eye twitched slightly when he heard Naruto's evaluation. He thought that if the Second Hokage heard this, Naruto would definitely be turned into a specimen.
But after thinking about it carefully, Naruto's assessment didn't seem entirely wrong.
The Flying Thunder God Technique was absurdly difficult. Otherwise, after the Second Hokage, only the Fourth Hokage had ever truly mastered it.
Jiraiya certainly wasn't going to tell Naruto that he himself had once tried—and failed—to learn it.

Jiraiya coughed lightly, then raised his hand. Chakra rapidly condensed and compressed in his palm, finally forming a rapidly spinning sphere of Chakra.
"This is the new Ninjutsu I'm going to teach you—Rasengan!"
Holding the Rasengan, Jiraiya walked over to a large tree and turned to Naruto.
"This technique was also one of the Fourth Hokage's specialties. It's an A-rank Ninjutsu he personally developed. Watch carefully!"
With that, Jiraiya pressed the Rasengan against the tree.
A circular hole was instantly gouged into the thick trunk.
"So powerful!"
Naruto was immediately excited beyond belief. He raised his hand and imitated Jiraiya's movements, beginning to condense Chakra.

The Chakra in Naruto's palm condensed rapidly, but just as it began to spin, it dispersed with a bang.

Jiraiya burst into laughter.

He stopped mid-sentence.
Jiraiya stared at Naruto's palm, his eyes widening in disbelief.
At that moment, Chakra rapidly condensed and rotated in Naruto's hand, forming a complete Rasengan—identical to the one Jiraiya had just demonstrated.
"Hehe!"
Naruto held up the Rasengan proudly. "What's the big deal? It's so simple. Toad Boss, you should've taught me this kind of Ninjutsu a long time ago!"
That's right… I should have.
Jiraiya looked at the Rasengan in Naruto's hand and nodded inwardly. He slowly suppressed the shock on his face and said seriously,
"Not bad. This technique suits you far better than something like the Flying Thunder God."
"But don't get complacent. The Rasengan isn't complete. Or rather, it's an unfinished Ninjutsu."
A trace of regret flashed through Jiraiya's eyes. He stepped forward, patted Naruto's shoulder, and said,
"Your father once said the Rasengan is a Ninjutsu with infinite possibilities. Unfortunately, he never had the chance to fully develop it. I hope that in your hands, it will evolve further."
"A Ninjutsu with infinite possibilities?"
Naruto lowered his head, studying the Rasengan thoughtfully. Then he looked up, grinning confidently. "Leave it to me. I'll definitely make it stronger and stronger!"
Even though Naruto didn't fully understand what "form changes" meant yet, his confidence didn't waver in the slightest.
"Hahaha, I believe you."
Jiraiya laughed loudly and patted his shoulder. "Your next training will be mastering the Rasengan and continuously developing its potential. But before that, there's one more Ninjutsu I need to teach you."
"There's more?"
Naruto's eyes immediately sparkled. He dispersed the Rasengan and eagerly asked, "Is it another Ninjutsu like the Rasengan?"
"Not exactly."
Jiraiya shook his head. "The next Ninjutsu is called the Summoning Technique. But before learning it, you must first sign a contract with a summoning beast."
He bit his finger, formed a seal, and slammed his hand onto the ground.
Bang!
White smoke erupted, and a large toad holding a scroll appeared beside him.
"My summoning beasts are the toads of Mount Myōboku."
Jiraiya took the scroll, opened it, and placed it in front of Naruto. "Your father also signed a summoning contract with Mount Myōboku. As long as you sign your name here, you can be just like—"
"Kid, refuse him!"
The Nine-Tails' voice suddenly echoed in Naruto's mind. "You are not allowed to sign a summoning contract with those stinky toads!"
"Uh… why?" Naruto asked internally, confused.
"No why!"
The Nine-Tails snorted. "Just tell the guy teaching you Ninjutsu that I forbid it. Say I don't like those stinky toads."
"This… alright."
Naruto wasn't sure why the Nine-Tails was so against it, but he didn't argue. In his heart, the Nine-Tails was closer to him than anyone else.
And honestly… he didn't really like toads either.
