[3rd POV]
With Christmas being officially over and done with, time had slowly flown by leading up until her appearance on the Ellen Show. During that time, Billie had spent all of her time focusing on finding the general area that they had wanted to live, and she had also started to look into dealerships for her cars.
But more importantly than either of them, she had been focusing all of her time on training her voice, and making sure that she was ready for the appearance. Mastering the song she was going to play to the best of her ability so that she made no mistakes and didn't embarrass herself in front of millions.
Thankfully, the song itself was not particularly difficult to sing, nor was it long. So it was relatively easy for her to make sure she was doing it right, and everything was perfect on their end. With her double and even triple checking with management regarding the background music, and what questions were absolutely off limits.
The biggest ones that were off limits were political questions (like voting and shit like that), as well as some other minor stuff. She didn't mind if Ellen asked questions about her grandmother or her past, or anything like that. None of it was a problem in her eyes.
Political questions were off limits for obvious reasons, as anything like that brought nothing but drama and arguments. None of which she was interested in dealing with. That, and that sort of thing was better left unsaid and personal.
It'd cause too many problems otherwise.
Billie had also started to look into venues for her tour around the US. And had talked to a few people during this time about it. She had found out pretty quickly that venues were damn expensive, but tours in general were money making machines, and could make her tens of millions if done properly.
So, she had looked into what cities she wanted to preform in. More specifically, she looked at what cities seemed to have the most amount of her fans. And from what she had researched, the numbers were about what she was expecting.
Number 1 was LA, as you'd obviously expect. Then there was San Francisco as second place, once again, she was not surprised. Third place was a bit surprising though, with it being Seattle of all places. She wondered why, but decided not to question it too much.
Then it was New York, after that it was Miami, then Atlanta, then Austin, then Detroit, then New Jersey.
There was also a few Canadian cities that she had looked into. As while she had talked about getting a venue before hand and had even scheduled one, she ended up cancelling it after researching a bit more and found that the owner of that venue was...sketchy as hell.
In terms of popularity in Canada, Toronto was far and away the city with the most fans, with Vancouver and then Montreal coming after that. She had millions of fans in pretty much every major city in Canada and the United States, as well as in tons of major cities.
She was basically the biggest singer in the entire world, and it was becoming increasingly obvious. She still was not even close to the level of a true legend in the art, like Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Queen, or Elvis. But she was the biggest in the modern age, and she had only been active for a couple of years at this point, so it was very impressive.
Give her another few years to a decade, and she would be far more popular than she already was.
She wasn't known by the entire world like Michael Jackson, nor was she selling hundreds of millions of records without the internet like he had. That was the one thing she would likely never be able to surpass. The ability to sell that much without the use of advertisement and the internet.
Goes to show how insane their careers were.
So, she had decided on doing her shows in the most popular cities in the US, as well as in Canada. She was also looking into doing shows in some other cities that were not as big, or not as well known. Those were mostly mid western cities and cities up in the New York area.
She wasn't touching the Southern States just yet. She was not that popular there yet. She did plan on making at least one country song at some point, but that would be in the future, as it was not exactly her type of music.
Honestly she was more likely to teach Haley to sing some country songs, as she was way more in line with that sort of music. She figured Ella Langley would have some perfect songs for her. But again, that was for the future.
Besides planning her tour and getting everything ready for it, she was also finishing up her merch designs. Shirts, hats, mugs, stuff like that. Nothing that was outrageously expensive, but still looked good, at least in her mind.
She had invested a few hundred thousand into it to make sure it was all done right, and she planned on starting up her own company that did merch for not just herself, but for other artists, streamers, celebrities, etc. But that would require a lot more investment than what she had ready.
At least right now.
Finding a house and area was proving to be a bit more difficult than Billie and Haley had been expecting. At least within their price range and what they wanted. The house shouldn't be too big, but it should also have enough rooms for everything they were wanting, and should be in a safe area where they could live in peace without too many problems.
Neither of them were willing to deal with paparazzi bullshit.
They wanted to have a place at least somewhat near Jay and Gloria, but found that most of the places near them simply were not fitting for them, were way too expensive for their budget, or was simply ugly as all hell. So, instead, they had started to look at places a bit further away.
They still wanted to have the house be around twenty minutes away from Jay's at most.
Besides that, Billie had not been up to too much. While Haley had actually been doing quite a lot.
For one, with Billie's help, Haley had started to do her own investing. Mostly because she wanted to make some serious money so that she didn't have to rely on Billie too much. So that she could contribute to the relationship more, so that things would feel more equal. She loved that Billie was so willing to spoil her, but she didn't want to be spoiled that much.
She had also gotten Billie's help for making her own merch, which would be for her new album when she released it. With her having her own records and vinyls made, and t-shirts as well. All of it was done on the down low, so nobody had found out just yet.
And finally, after nearly two weeks since Christmas had ended, it was time for the Ellen Show, which Billie was driving towards right now. And while she was driving, she had only one thought on her mind.
'Please...let this go well!'
