Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"Chalce, what's wrong with you? I've called your name like thirty times."

Chalce snapped out of his thoughts and looked at his friends "sorry, I'm fine, I just feel a bit off today."

One of his friends a girl with chestnut coloured hair stared at him suspiciously with her magenta coloured eyes "maybe it's your heat?"

Chalce shook his head "you know that's very unlikely."

Their dark skinned friend sitting across from them adjusted his glasses and closed his book to join the conversation "maybe the alpha we saw yesterday used his pheromones to mess with you."

"Huh! Chalce, Richmon, when did you guys meet an alpha without me?!" The girl asked frantically.

Unimpressed, Richmon pushed her approaching face away "Cherry, stop shouting, we didn't meet an alpha, we ran into one at the library yesterday. The asshole couldn't even put a muzzle on his scent."

A pout formed on Cherry's face "it doesn't matter, why are you guys going places with me?"

"You didn't want to come" Richmon pointed out.

Chalce laughed a bit while watching his friend's regular shenanigans "I doubt he was even trying to do anything to me, he seemed more interested in Richmon."

An heavy silence fell over the table "what do you mean? I wasn't there, but I'm sure he was also looking at you too."

"There's literally nothing to look at" laughing awkwardly Chalce avoided the eyes of his friends.

"Let's just drop it" Richmon suggested.

Hours flew by and the day came to an end, the friends said their goodbyes and separated, going to their own hostels.

Chalce to the blue house where mostly average students stayed, Cherry to the red house where the artistically talented students lived, and Richmon to the purple house for the intellectually gifted. There was also a green house dedicated to the athletes.

Chalce walked into his neat and organized room, in the centre was his roommate sprawled on the floor in a yoga pose "evening Chalce" she greeted.

"Evening Koko, how was your day?"

Koko smiled, her brown skin glowing in the evening light before the blinds fell, dimming the atmosphere "been alright, don't forget to take your keys and lock the doors if you go out today."

"Yeah I will" he nodded.

The two didn't talk much after that, both busy with their own activities.

Koko had eventually fallen asleep when Chalce got ready to head out, it was three hours from midnight, and the night was cold.

Inside the school was quiet but outside was busy, many cars were in the parking lot and many students were talking and relaxing with people from different schools and none students in the chilly autumn air.

The school was strict, and did not allow alphas or betas on campus, except for special occasion, or during an emergency to keep everyone safe, but there were no rules restricting students from having relationships, a vast majority of them were legal adults.

Many omegas waited till nightfall before going to meet their partners outside, so the parking lot was always a hotspot.

Chalce nervously covered his face with his hoodie and walked through the parking lot.

He hated the fact that this was the safest option to get to the convenience store.

In his haste someone ran into him, and both of them fell to the ground "sorry" he quickly apologised.

The other was a redhead omega, she looked slightly annoyed but quickly hid her displeasure behind a smile "it's fine, don't worry about it."

Dusting themselves off they stood up the girl took a closer look at him "you're Chalce right?"

Surprised, he nodded.

"I remember you, always hanging out with Cherry and that other guy Richmon."

"I'm surprised you know me."

"Of course I do, what are you doing out here by this time?"

"Actually I-"

A tall, broad looking alpha hastily ran towards them cutting him off "Rose where have you been?" He asked worriedly.

The alpha gave Chalce a side glance and faced Rose with an expression filled with longing and fear of abandonment.

Rose smirked in a way only Chalce saw before innocently smiling to the alpha "I'm sorry, I just bumped into a friend out here and stopped to say hi, this is Chalce."

Chalce gaped, when had they been friends? Out of politeness he still gave a curt evening greeting, even though the alpha was treating him like nonexistent air.

"Let's go back to my car" with a hand on her shoulders the alpha led Rose away.

Chalce wasn't surprised by the alpha's indifference towards him, his pheromones weren't sweet smelling, he wasn't particularly beautiful, and he lacked the charisma most omegas were born with, average in everything, including his studies.

The rest of his walk to the convenience store was left uninterrupted, and after picking out a necessities he paid and headed back to school.

By now it was dead in the night with little or no cars moving, it made it easy for the omega to realise he was being followed.

Omega-violence had drastically reduced since the 'justice for omegas' bill was passed a few years ago, stating any alpha or beta caught acting violent or indecent around innocent omegas would be given punishments as severe as castration.

The sound of heavy footsteps drew closer and Chalce's blood ran cold, without a second thought he was off, leaving the bags of goods scattered on the floor.

Through alleyways, and over fences Chalce ran for his life, but the footsteps didn't falter hot on his trail, only when he reached the familiar environment of the library did he slow down and trip due to exhaustion.

"You sure can run fast little omega" the gruff alpha's voice cut through the silence of the night.

Turning around to sprint again Chalce noticed he was being surrounded by more people dressed in all black "who are you people?! What do you want?!" The panic made his heart beat out of control.

They didn't answer his questions, and closed in.

"You'll soon know" the closest person grabbed onto his hand to quickly subdued his struggles, gagged, tied, blindfolded and helpless the omega was thrown into a black car with tinted glass and taken to an unknown location.

An hour later Chalce's eyes squinted as the blindfold was taken off, with difficulty he spat the gag out and tried to stand up, only to realise he was tied to a chair "let me go!"

His captors looked unimpressed by his struggles, "be quiet, you'll be dealt with soon enough" one said.

Despite his anxiety the omega calmed down and took in his surroundings, surprisingly, the place was very pristine, an office with glass walls and luxurious furniture, the air conditioning was on and the decor was modern and minimalist, even the chair he sat on was comfortable.

This only made things more confusing, because this seemed like a place for CEOs to have business meetings not where illegal activities like kidnapping should take place.

"What do ya think the boss want with this one?"

"He's pretty average."

"Who cares, the clubs could always use a new worker, he's an omega, ain't he?"

"Can't tell, hardly smelling shi off him."

"Betas can be sold too, ya?"

The four men seemed to have forgotten the omega was there, leaving Chalce to shrink from the harshness of their words, how could they treat him like an animal? Talking about selling him like an object.

"Don't talk about me like that, I'm not some object you can just sell off!" He spat.

"I said shut up! Don't you dare say another word omega!" One of the alpha growled with a substantial amount of aggressive pheromones.

Chalce shrunk back into the chair and whimpered and cried at the sign of hostility.

"Haven't I told you all to control your temper" an authoritative female voice said, everyone instantly froze

Bowing, the alphas greeted the dominant female that entered the office, dressed in a well tailored grey suit that complimented her pale skin, golden curls and emerald eyes, the smell of her pheromones were strong enough to subdue a regular alpha much less an omega, despite her height she still wore corporate heels, giving an intimidating and professional appearance.

In the blink of an eye she stood in front of Chalce dropping down to reach his eye level, her cold hands gently cupped his cheeks to wipe away the tears "don't cry little omega, I won't let anything happen to you" her voice was soft, disarming and reassuring.

Unable to stop the blush warming his cheeks Chalce pulled away bashfully, but the dominant alpha only found him more endearing.

"Get out of here and think about what you've done" her tone was extremely different from how she spoke to the omega, the four alpha soon found themselves stumbling out of the office after a quick "sorry boss."

The ropes binding Chalce were untied and he immediately stood up, keeping eye contact with the dominant alpha as he slowly scooted towards the door.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, this place is crawling with numerous alphas ready to gobble you up, so why don't you take a seat and we'll talk about why you're here."

The female alpha took the seat behind the desk and waited for the omega.

Reluctantly, he sat with a bitter look on his face and waited to hear what she had to say.
