Clash of Dragons and Demons — Xiao Yan's Resolve
In an instant, Bio Yi's hand shot out, gripping Xiao Yan and lifting him effortlessly. His strength was crushing, his grip tight enough to strangle the life from him.
"No! He feeds on evil thoughts," Mi-An shouted, realizing the strategy. "Clear your mind! He will weaken!"
Bio Yi's eyes glowed red as he turned toward Mi-An, closing the distance in a blink.
"Get away from her!" Xiao Yan shouted, his inner energy flaring uncontrollably.
In a surge of power, he regained his dragon form. Wings unfurled, scales shimmering with light, and he charged at Bio Yi with devastating force. His blow struck true, yet the demon barely budged.
Bio Yi dropped Mi-An, who coughed and panted on the ground. Xiao Yan's gaze hardened.
"As long as I live, I'll take you demons down!!" he screamed, pouring every ounce of power he could muster into the attack.
He unleashed another spell, hitting Bio Yi with an enormous strike that finally caused the demon to falter and dissipate into nothingness.
Mi-An stared in shock. "You… you killed it!"
Xiao Yan, chest heaving, walked over to her. Without thinking, he embraced her. The world seemed to pause as their eyes met, the tension and fear giving way to a fleeting moment of warmth.
For Xiao Yan, this was the first time he felt the strength of his own courage. For Mi-An, it was a moment of shock and new awareness, and though fleeting, it planted a seed of something neither of them had anticipated.
