Chapter 207 - Sam

Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Formerly known as Hog Island, Paradise Island is a slender slice of land—four miles long, half a mile wide, totaling just under 700 acres. It sits just off the northern coast of Nassau, connected to New Providence Island by two bridges: one built in 1966, the other in the late 1990s.

Famous worldwide for the Atlantis Resort, it was a playground for the rich.

Hunter Sun walked along the coast, a tourist brochure in one hand, taking in the sights.

After arriving via the enthusiastic young taxi driver, Hunter decided against checking into the Atlantis Resort. While the resort was the island's crown jewel, he wasn't here just for water slides and casinos. He needed privacy and a base of operations. Plus, the resort rates were extortionate even for him.

Instead, after a quick consultation at the visitor center, he rented a private seaside villa with its own yacht mooring.

The cost was $6,000 a night. For the current Hunter Sun, that was pocket change.

He paid upfront and began walking toward his new temporary home, enjoying the island breeze.

The Bahamas had a small population—just over 300,000 people spread across 100,000 square miles of ocean and islands. But Paradise Island was dense. The streets were packed with tourists, their attire screaming "vacation mode."

Hunter, dressed in a lightweight, breathable casual suit, stood out slightly but felt perfectly comfortable.

Since his transmigration over four months ago, his stats had skyrocketed to over four times that of an average adult male. He had noticed that his enhanced constitution didn't just give him strength and speed; it made him incredibly resilient to environmental factors.

He hadn't been sick once. No colds, no fevers. Even the sweltering August heat of the Caribbean felt merely pleasant to him.

"Nice place," he muttered. "The environment is top-tier."

The entire island was only slightly larger than his farm back in Los Angeles. Following the coastal road, he soon located his rental villa.

However, he didn't go in immediately.

He needed supplies. In Mexico, to make room in his [Inventory] (which had expanded to 224 cubic meters) for potential treasure, he had cleared out most of his mundane items like food and spare clothes. About 60 cubic meters were permanently occupied by his arsenal and cash reserves, so space management was key.

He decided to restock at the island's hub: the Atlantis Resort area.

As he walked toward the resort, the crowd thickened. And with the crowds came the pickpockets.

Hunter felt a hand slip into his pocket again. This time, he didn't ignore it. He grabbed the wrist and squeezed.

Crack.

"Ahhh!"

A young man screamed, clutching his hand as Hunter released him and kept walking without breaking stride.

"Learn to take a hint," Hunter whispered.

He had let the first attempt slide, but this guy had tried twice after finding the first pocket empty. That deserved a lesson.

Entering the Atlantis complex, Hunter bought a ticket and wandered through. From the massive open-air marine habitat to the water park, it was impressive.

By 4:00 PM, he found himself at Dolphin Cay, just in time for the final dolphin show of the day.

Hunter was curious. In both his previous life and this one, he had never actually seen a live dolphin show. Since he hadn't started his treasure hunt yet—he planned to rent a boat and hire a guide tomorrow—he figured he might as well kill some time.

He bought a ticket and took his seat in the amphitheater.

Bored, he scanned the audience, hoping to spot some eye candy.

Disappointment ensued. The crowd was mostly families, elderly tourists, and noisy children. The few young women were accompanied by boyfriends or husbands.

Strike one, Hunter thought, leaning back.

He was about to close his eyes when a commotion broke out among a group of local young men sitting nearby. Wolf whistles and excited whispers cut through the ambient noise.

Hunter's enhanced hearing picked up their conversation effortlessly.

"It's Sam! Man, she's still so hot."

"Give it up, bro. She has a boyfriend."

"Who cares? If I could just get with her once, I'd trade ten years of my life."

Intrigued by the local thirst, Hunter looked toward the staff entrance of the dolphin enclosure.

A group of trainers walked out to prepare for the show. Among them was a young woman in a wetsuit that clung to her athletic frame, unzipped slightly to reveal a bikini top underneath.

Hunter's eyes locked onto her face.

His brain short-circuited for a second.

The Invisible Woman?!

It was Jessica Alba. Or rather, a character played by her.
