Chapter 26 - The Bun Girl's Second Commission

"Hmph, what's with touching my hand like that?"

"But this feeling is so strange. It's completely different from holding hands with a friend."

"It's warm and full of security."

Yuigahama Yui followed Kawashima Toya, her heart filled with shyness.

She was already this old, yet she had never had such intimate contact with a boy, not even something as simple as holding hands.

She hadn't expected to be caught off guard and have her hand grabbed by Toya today.

Yui stared at Toya's tall and straight figure, muttering in her heart, I'm definitely going to haggle hard later as compensation for having my hand touched.

Toya sat back in his seat and looked at Yui, who was sitting opposite him. "Now, let's talk about the commission."

When discussing paranormal commissions, one had to be cautious.

What if the commission was to go fight an Evil God?

"Right, here's what happened," Yui said with a serious expression. "Actually, when I left at noon today, I ran into a little girl."

"At first, I thought she was just an ordinary lost child, so I planned to wait for her parents to come looking for her."

Listening to Yui's recounting of events, Toya's expression turned strange. "You really are bold, bringing just anything into your club room."

"It's fortunate that the little girl bore no ill will towards humans. Otherwise, Sobu High School might have become one of the urban legends."

"Ehehe, I was just anxious in the moment," Yui laughed shyly. "I didn't know she wasn't human."

"That's why I came straight to you for help."

Toya put away his playful demeanor and said seriously, "So the content of the commission is to help that non-human girl find her family, correct?"

"Yes!" Yui nodded heavily. She was already prepared to bleed money.

Perhaps her pocket money for the next half-year, along with the pocket money of her Service Club members, would all have to go towards the commission fee.

Toya pretended to think, sensing Yui's nervousness, and laughed inwardly. With a system commission triggered, how could I charge too much?

He wasn't short on money right now; earning money was just a side hustle.

More importantly, Yui's request had triggered a system commission rewarding a full 20,000 Source Points.

Just accepting the commission would grant him 20,000 Source Points.

How could he miss such a good opportunity?

"The commission fee will be one hundred thousand yen." Toya quoted the exact same price as last time, surprising Yui, who was prepared to go broke.

"One hundred thousand yen?"

Yui asked in disbelief, "Kawashima, you're so greedy for money, yet you only want one hundred thousand?"

"I'm greedy?" Toya said helplessly. "I'm not greedy; this is just the necessary price."

"Who knows when I might need to buy a high-quality coffin?"

"If I charge too little, maybe I won't even be able to afford a coffin..."

Before Toya could finish, Yui reached out and covered his mouth, stopping him from continuing.

Yui said unhappily, "Don't say that. It feels like you're arranging your own funeral."

"You need to be careful and don't jinx things."

Toya was stunned, and an inexplicable warmth flowed through his heart.

"Thank you."

"Hmph, I don't want your thanks." Yui gave a cute little snort. "I'll get the money right now."

"No need." Toya shook his head. "This time, I'll collect it after the commission is completed."

"Eh?" Yui looked at Toya as if meeting him for the first time. He actually wasn't collecting the money upfront.

Toya smiled faintly. "Consider it a reward for your words just now. I benefited a lot from them."

It was the first time he had received concern from a girl.

Toya picked up the Demon Sword Murasame and straightened his clothes. "Let's go. We're going to resolve this commission."

"Okay!" Yui put away her unnecessary thoughts and stood up to follow.
