Chapter 23 - The Fainting Yuigahama Yui

This client had no other demands; she simply wanted the truth.

These one hundred thousand yen was earned far too easily.

Not long after, Yuigahama Yui saw Kawashima Toya playing games and puffed out her cheeks angrily. "Hmph, cunning Kawashima."

She had already come to terms with the death of her pet dog, Sablé.

At this moment, Yui's heart was filled with curiosity.

"What does a detective agency capable of accepting paranormal commissions look like?"

With this thought in mind, Yui began to curiously observe the agency.

After looking around, she didn't find anything particularly special.

The entire first-floor lobby of the agency was exceptionally spacious, with a sword placed in the most conspicuous spot.

"Is this the sword that killed Sablé after he was infected by the Evil God's aura?"

Yui walked up to the Demon Sword Murasame and examined it curiously.

Although it was sheathed, its exquisite appearance revealed that this sword was extremely precious.

"Kawashima-kun, can I take a look at your sword?"

Toya, immersed in flaming the "idiot little priest" from yesterday in his game, didn't even lift his head. "Look all you want."

"That sword is called the Demon Sword Murasame. The blade contains a cursed poison."

"Once cut, the injured part must be severed within five seconds."

"Otherwise, the cursed poison will spread throughout the body, leading to certain death."

After stating the precautions, Toya immediately dived back into his game.

Today, he was going to hunt down that little priest until she didn't even have pants left to wear.

"Cursed poison?" Yui looked shocked. She hurriedly put down the Murasame she had just picked up and backed away several steps to keep a safe distance.

She was terrified that the cursed poison might harm her.

However, human curiosity knows no bounds.

Finding nothing else special about the agency, Yui's gaze drifted back to the Demon Sword Murasame.

"Is it really that terrifying?"

A bold idea surfaced in her mind. She took out the breakfast bread she had prepared in her school bag.

Yui picked up Murasame very carefully and slowly drew it out with extreme caution.

As the blade was gradually unsheathed, the sharp, clear steel reflected Yui's face like a mirror.

"This sword is so beautiful."

The moment Yui saw Murasame, she instantly fell in love with this demon sword.

"I can't be careless. Even Kawashima-kun said it's very dangerous. I must not get cut."

It took Yui a lot of effort to fully unsheathe the sword, admiring the grace of this demon sword from another world.

"Let's test it out."

Yui was very curious just how terrifying this sword—labeled dangerous even by a professional who could slay demons—truly was.

She gently lowered Murasame. Its sharp blade sliced through the breakfast bread effortlessly, cutting it in two.

Under Yui's expectant gaze, countless streaks of cursed poison, resembling deadly venom, suddenly surged from the bread.

In an instant, the cursed poison completely enveloped the two halves of the bread.

In just one second, the bread began to rot directly, emitting an incredibly strong, foul stench.

"How scary!"

Yui's eyes were filled with horror. The admiration she had for the sword vanished, replaced by intense fear.

Just then, a wave of intense dizziness hit her.

"I told you not to mess with it."

"But you wouldn't listen."

From the side, Toya, who had been watching all this unfold, gently caught the falling Yui with one hand and caught the falling Murasame with the other.

Toya carried the dizzy Yui back to a seat and sat her down, then looked at Murasame in his hand. "That idiot was actually afraid of you."

"Serves her right for getting dizzy."

Teigu were the top-tier weapons of the Akame ga Kill! world.

Each of them seemed to possess a life of its own and could sense the emotional changes of its user.

Anyone attempting to use a Teigu absolutely could not harbor negative emotions toward it, such as dislike or fear.

Once emotions like dislike arose, the compatibility with the Teigu would immediately drop, resulting in side effects like dizziness.

Toya sheathed Murasame and waited unhurriedly for Yui to recover.

After a full ten minutes, just as Toya was getting impatient...

Yui finally regained consciousness. Her large, clear eyes looked around blankly. "Where am I?"

"You're already dead," Toya said playfully, deliberately putting on a gloomy tone.

The ditzy Yui didn't realize her situation at all and panicked instantly. "What? How did I die?"

"I have no strength in my hands or feet..."

"Am I really dead?"

Seeing that his joke had achieved its purpose, Toya walked over slowly and greeted her with a smile. "Yo, you're awake!"

"The owner of the Trash Fox Detective Agency?" Yui's memories suddenly became clear, and she recalled what had just happened.

She had been testing Murasame to see if it was as terrifying as Toya claimed.

The reality was exactly as he described. Then, she had felt a wave of dizziness.
