Chapter 18 - Dormatories

It wasn't until the next morning that the ship finally arrived at the island. The moment we arrived, we were escorted to the center of the island by an armored vehicle. The windows were tinted black so we couldn't see anything outside. But occasionally we would hear distant growls and the vehicle stopped quite a few times.

When we finally reached the safe zone, we were welcomed once again by the principal and escorted to the dormitories.

The receptionist gave each of us a handbook, which detailed the rules and the time at which trash would be taken out. As for the rules, it was mostly the basics: no fighting inside dorms, no wasting electricity, no excessive noise, and lights out after 10 p.m.

There was even a section talking about contact between members of the opposite sex. To my surprise, it was a co-ed dorm, meaning both male and female students would be in the same building. Though each student would be given their own rooms, it was still a big deal.

After going over the rules, the receptionist handed us the key to our dorm rooms and permitted us to leave. Immediately, the students began to disperse, heading towards their designated dorm rooms.

I glanced down at the key in my hand.

"Room 305, huh?"

"Aren't you going to your room?" Sophia asked when she saw that I didn't make any effort to move.

"The elevator is packed, and I don't feel like taking the stairs. I'll just wait until everyone is gone."

Sophia looked at me and frowned. For a moment, I thought she would say some snarky remark about me being lazy, but she only sighed and walked off towards the stairs.

"Suit yourself." She mumbled.

As she walked off, I took a glance at the key in her hand.

"Room 411."

It seemed a few other students had the same idea as me to wait until everyone had left.

"Oh my god, I can't believe we're at the same school! I heard about your performance on the entrance exam! And your appearance, you were in that tv drama, 'Love Can Move the Heavens!'"

"Yes she was, she even debuted on that new pop song. Her voice is angelic!"

"Oh guys, come on, it's really not that impressive!"

"Yeah, you were really amazing!"

"You managed to rank third in the entire first year!"

"I really hope we get put in the same class!"

Behind me, a group of girls squealed excitedly, their over excited voices traveled through the mostly empty reception room as they waited for the elevator. I took a glance back to see who they were and what was going on. It was a group of four girls. Three of them were surrounding a girl that was standing in the middle.

"You are truly amazing, princess! The reason I wanted to attend this academy was because I heard you were coming here!" One girl said with eyes that seemed to sparkle.

The girl she was talking to had an embarrassed blush on her face as she swept away her beautiful blonde hair behind her ear.

Man, was she a beauty. That moment when she swept away her hair, it felt as if my heart had skipped a beat. Her hair looked as if someone had melted gold and weaved it into small strands.

This girl had an effortless beauty about her. Her skin was as clear as crystal; it made me wonder if she was a person like me. Her body was fully developed, more so than the girls of her age. She had a small nose and plump cherry-colored lips.

She wore a stunning silver sundress that complemented her striking features. The best way to describe her entire appearance was that she looked as if she had stepped out of a fairytale.

There wasn't even a trace of unpleasantness in her demeanor. Her smile was as bright as the sun as she spoke to the girls surrounding her. Her face was flushed red with embarrassment, from her cheeks all the way up to the tip of her pointed ears.

"She's the same as in the game." I mumbled to myself.

Of course, I knew who this beauty was.

"Amelia Forest. The elf princess and one of the leading heroines in the game."

In the novel, her arrival at the academy was a huge event. This was the first time in history an elf princess had ever attended a human academy. It wasn't only her, the other races had representatives in this year's patch too but of them all she easily stood out the most.

Looking at her, I was once again reminded that I was no longer back on Earth. From her pointed ears and otherworldly beauty, it was obvious that this girl wasn't human. It wasn't only her beauty and looks, but the energy she gave off.

Elves naturally emitted a pheromone that drew in all living creatures, giving them a sense of comfort and tranquility. They were a peaceful race. Even when they were at war with humans, they were the first to put forth an alliance. There were even stories about elves healing wounded humans during battle.

Amelia was no different from her kind. In the game, she was practically selfless. She would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Also, apart from being a very high ranked hero, she was also a pop idol, with several hit songs and tv series. She was both a princess and a celebrity.

Eventually, she meets someone just as kind-hearted as her, and a budding romance ensues. Of course, this person is none other than the protagonist himself.

Ding!

Just then, the elevator arrived, and we all stepped inside. They didn't seem to notice me as I stood at the back of the elevator trying to make myself as small as possible. To them I was just the average Joe not worth their time. I more or less listened in on their conversation until the elevator finally arrived at my floor.

It wasn't long after that I found room 305. The room was relatively small, but it was enough for one. What greeted me when I opened the door was a bed at the far end of the room. To the right was the kitchen space, and to the left was the bathroom.

I tried taking a step inside, but my feet hit something. I glanced down to see what it was.

"Oh, so it had arrived."

What was on the ground just inside my room was my personal belongings, which I had mailed beforehand. With a tired grunt, I lifted up the three boxes that were there, only to place them in a small corner.

My plan was to sort them out later. I hadn't done much today, but still, I felt mentally drained, so I collapsed onto the bed. The soft mattress made me a bit drowsy. As I lay there, I decided to take a look at my watch.

Since I was alone, I changed the settings so I was staring at a holographic screen instead. I scrolled through the rankings details and clicked on my profile. Luckily, some of the details had updated.

There was one piece of information I was particularly interested in. That would be the class I was in. Mainly, I wanted to see if I would be in the same class as him.
