Chapter 8 - It was ruined by her

Si Yehan seemed to be in a good mood and didn't lose his temper at Lin Que's chattering.

Lin Que stared deeply at his brother's devastatingly handsome face, wearing an expression of regret and distress as if witnessing a waste of a rare treasure. "Ninth Brother, with your status, looks, and figure, what kind of woman can't you get? Why debase yourself like this?"

Ye Wanwan had just changed her clothes and walked downstairs when she heard Lin Que's words.

Why did his words sound so familiar?

"If you'd just wanted to play with something edgy for a novelty, that'd be one thing, but you're not even playing around—it's been two years! As your brother, I can barely watch anymore…"

Lin Que kept rambling on, but Si Yehan, who looked lazy and had been ignoring him, suddenly tilted his head slightly and his gaze shot straight toward the stairs.

Lin Que followed Si Yehan's gaze instinctively.

The next second, his eyes suddenly lit up, filled with stunned admiration.

There stood a girl on the stairs, dressed in a pure white dress, with a slender figure, waist-length hair, bright, expressive eyes, lips as pink as peach blossoms, and skin as fair and smooth as jade—so beautiful she didn't seem of this world.

This girl was simply… indescribably gorgeous…

Even standing next to the devilishly handsome Si Yehan, her radiance didn't pale in comparison.

What made her most captivating was her ethereal, delicate aura, which instantly sparked an overwhelming desire to protect her!

Even after Ye Wanwan had walked to the dining table, Lin Que still had a dreamy look on his face.

Ye Wanwan glanced at the table. In the past, she'd always sat far away from Si Yehan, but this time, after a moment's thought, she pulled out the chair next to him and sat down.

Seeing the girl sit beside him, Si Yehan's gaze, which had been fixed on her, flickered slightly.

Following the principle that saying less meant making fewer mistakes, Ye Wanwan sat down and began eating her breakfast in silence.

Ever since she'd come down, that piercing gaze had been resting on her as if it were tangible.

She was actually quite nervous about suddenly reverting to her original appearance, wondering how Si Yehan would react.

But anyway, if Si Yehan hadn't minded her awful-looking self, he certainly wouldn't mind her looking beautiful—and at least she enjoyed seeing herself like this.

With that thought, Ye Wanwan relaxed and buried her head in her porridge.

Just then, a long, slender finger suddenly reached toward her cheek.

Ye Wanwan tensed up, her entire body freezing in place.

Then, she watched as that finger brushed a strand of hair from her ear that had almost fallen into her porridge bowl and tucked it behind her ear.

At that moment, Si Yehan was lazily leaning back in his chair. After tucking the girl's hair back, he slowly pulled his hand away, but his gaze never left her. It swept over every inch of her skin and every subtle expression on her face, filled with curiosity and a hint of imperceptible warmth.

Ye Wanwan let out a breath of relief and quickly tucked her hair back herself to keep it from falling in again.

Finally, Lin Que snapped out of his daze, leaned over excitedly, and whispered gossipingly, "Ninth Brother! You've finally come to your senses! You should've found someone like this long ago—beautiful, feminine, the kind you just want to cherish and protect! Why let that woman Ye Wanwan waste your time!"

Ye Wanwan: ... Waste his time…

Lin Que added, "By the way, where's that ugly woman? Did you kick her out?"

Ye Wanwan: ... Ugly woman…

Lin Que: "Although Ye Wanwan wasn't so over-the-top when she first got with you two years ago, she was heavy back then! At least a hundred and fifty pounds, right?!"

Ye Wanwan: ...

That's a lie! It was clearly a hundred and forty! Sure, she'd put on a lot of weight during puberty because she loved eating, but her weight had never broken a hundred and fifty, okay?

Lin Que: "Ninth Brother, I never understood your taste back then—how could you like a fat girl?"

Ye Wanwan: ... Fat girl…

Ye Wanwan had finally had enough!

No girl could stand being called fat to her face!

Slap!

Ye Wanwan suddenly slammed her chopsticks down hard on the table, her gaze shooting at Lin Que across from her like a blade—

"Lin! Que! So what if I was a hundred and fifty pounds! So what if I was fat! Did I eat a single grain of rice from your house?!!"
