Chapter 15 Abominable Gods
The Toril universe entered a prosperous era known as the "Dawn Era".
The gods grew stronger with the worship of believers of all races, and the light of order from Mount Paradise shone in all directions. Even the nine levels of Hell established a cruel and efficient system under Lucifer's rule.
Beyond the material universe, the four elemental planes, after a long period of turmoil, have entered a relatively stable period. Each of the four elemental planes—fire, air, earth, and water—has a clearly defined ruler.
The Fire Elemental Plane is ruled by the primordial fire god Kasshus.
The god of fire divided the raging sea of fire into different areas, and built the palace of fire and the castle of lava.
Fire elementals, from tiny spark elementals to colossal fire giants, all acknowledge the supreme authority of Kashus.
Kashus's most powerful act was taming the wild gods of the fire elemental plane.
Some were directly annihilated, becoming nourishment for the plane itself; some chose to submit, becoming the Flame Generals of Kashus; a few escaped to other planes and no longer posed a threat.
The air elemental plane became orderly under Arcadi's rule.
This god of air transformed chaotic storms into regular air currents, creating cities in the clouds and storm fortresses.
Air elementals roam freely here, but all abide by the rules set by the Arcadians.
Arcadio used his wisdom and strategy to persuade most of the Qi Desolation Gods to join his camp, while a few die-hards were driven to the edge of the plane, unable to influence the core area anymore.
The Earth Elemental Plane became solid and stable under the rule of Guramba.
This god of earth fixed the ever-changing terrain, creating magnificent underground cities and gem veins.
Earth elemental creatures dig and build here, all loyal to Gulamba.
Gulanba crushed the Earth God's resistance with absolute power; there was no third way—submission or destruction. Now, the Earth Elemental Plane is the most stable elemental realm.
The water elemental plane is controlled by Istia.
This god of water tamed the raging ocean, divided the seas and currents into distinct zones, and built crystal palaces and pearl castles.
Water elementals roam here, all obeying the commands of Istia.
Istia dealt with the Water God in a way that was both gentle and firm, combining the strategies of appeasement and elimination, and ultimately achieved the unification of the Water Elemental Plane.
With the stabilization of the four elemental planes, the elemental activity in the prime material plane also became more regular.
Volcanic eruptions, storm formations, earthquakes, and tsunamis all have predictable patterns.
Elemental life forms began to emerge naturally on the prime material plane. Fire elements were born in volcanoes, air elements in storms, earth elements in mountains, and water elements in the oceans.
These elemental creatures are usually weak, but occasionally powerful individuals will emerge.
The gods are optimistic about the stability of the elemental planes. This means the foundation of the universe is more solid, the magic network operates more smoothly, and spellcasters can invoke elemental power more safely.
Ling Hao observed the changes in the elemental planes and sensed that the universe was becoming more orderly. But he knew that this order was fragile, and external threats had never disappeared.
In the chaotic void beyond the material universe, the Wild Gods have indeed never given up their attempts to invade.
These terrifying beings from beyond the universe, having learned from the failures and lessons of an era, have become more cunning and dangerous than ever before.
One of them was particularly powerful; He began attacking the material universe from Genesis. He instinctively yearned for that beautiful universe, but these wild gods kept failing.
"Why do we suffer repeated defeats despite our numerical superiority?" He pondered in the chaos. "The gods are organized and disciplined, with weapons and tactics. We, on the other hand, are only driven by chaotic instincts."
He observed many failed invasions and came to the conclusion that the Wild Gods needed weapons, tactics, and organization.
But this idea was ridiculed by the other Aragami.
"Weapons? Tactics? Those are the tricks of the weak!" roared a wild god. "We crush everything with strength!"
He shook his head: "It is this kind of thinking that has led to our downfall. Look at the four elemental gods; they were originally just as chaotic as we are, but now that they have order, they have become powerful."
A few Aragami began to agree with this view, but most still adhered to the traditional methods.
It decided to take action. It began searching the chaotic void for suitable materials to make weapons, but there was nothing in the chaos except chaos itself. It tried to compress the chaos to make weapons, but they quickly dissipated.
Enraged, it made a mad decision. It extracted most of its divine power and began to forcibly compress the surrounding chaotic energy.
This process is extremely dangerous. Chaotic energy resists any form of order, and trying to compress it is like trying to restrain a storm. His body begins to disintegrate, and if he fails, he will return to chaos.
But He persevered. After an immeasurable amount of time and effort, He finally succeeded in compressing the chaotic energy into the shape of a giant axe.
This axe looks irregular, and the handle constantly changes shape. But it is indeed a true divine weapon belonging to Him—the Chaos Axe.
The moment the Chaos Axe took shape, the energy fluctuations it released shook the entire chaotic void. Other desolate gods were drawn to it, staring in astonishment at this unprecedented weapon.
"What is this?" one of the Aragami asked.
He raised the Chaos Axe and with a single cleavage, easily tore through the void.
"This is power, absolute power," He declared.
The Chaos Axe is not just a weapon, but a symbol. It proves that chaos can be shaped, controlled, and used for creation.
A few Arakan gods began to imitate Him, attempting to create their own weapons. But most remained skeptical, even believing that He had betrayed the nature of chaos.
He ignored these doubts and began practicing using the Chaos Axe.
This weapon has astonishing potential: it can tear through space, sever laws, and even damage the essence of gods.
The Chaos Axe also allowed Him to control His own chaotic energy more precisely. From then on, the Aragami possessed their own divine artifact
