Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Bardock, Finally Meeting My Parents

Planet Vegeta.

Qin Yan and Liya's figures appeared atop a desolate red soil plateau. Qin Yan looked around at the bleak landscape. The air was thick with the scent of sand and dust, and the planet's gravity was ten times that of Earth. Had they not been so powerful and undergone specialized training, they likely wouldn't have been able to adapt to such crushing weight.

He sensed the planet for a moment, feeling several powerful auras. Before they had even set foot on this soil, Qin Yan had instructed Liya to suppress her Ki to its absolute minimum; otherwise, they would have been discovered instantly.

After many years, Qin Yan and little Liya had returned to Planet Vegeta, and they had done so in total silence. To avoid causing a stir, Qin Yan pulled two black robes from his System Inventory, and they each donned one.

His first priority was to gather information before meeting his parents. If he found them now and simply claimed Planet Vegeta was about to be destroyed and that they needed to flee, no one would believe him. He needed intelligence first to plan his next move.

Disguised and stealthy, the two made their way toward the Saiyan stronghold.

What greeted them was a massive spaceport used for launching ships into the cosmos. People bustled about Saiyans returning from expeditions or preparing for new missions, alongside various aliens of strange appearances and different skin colors working busily.

These aliens were mostly slaves captured during Saiyan conquests, while others were Frieza's subordinates. Ever since the Saiyans joined Frieza, his headquarters had dispatched personnel to assist the Saiyans in daily management and, more importantly, to keep them under surveillance.

After all, the brutal and cold-blooded Saiyans were far from tech-savvy; destruction was their only real specialty. The high-tech equipment used for their interstellar conquests required these specialized aliens to design and operate.

Qin Yan led Liya through the vital corners of the capital, digging for news. Finally, from a few aliens guarding the medical wing, he overheard a crucial piece of information.

Bardock.

The biological father of Goku. A few months ago, he had led his five-man squad on an expedition to Planet Kanassa. Utilizing their racial advantage, they had transformed into their Great Ape Forms. Under the devastating power of that onslaught, they had conquered the entire planet a month ahead of schedule and returned just a few days ago.

Aside from Bardock, the other four members of the team had sustained only minor injuries. Bardock alone had been caught in a sneak attack by a Kanassan at the final moment, falling into a deep, heavy coma. He was currently undergoing treatment.

After a few days of recovery, the other four members of the Bardock Team had fully regained their strength. They had already received orders to invade another planet, but since Bardock's injuries were severe and he remained unconscious, they had set out earlier that morning without him.

Upon receiving this vital intel, Qin Yan rushed to the medical room. There, inside a healing pod, he saw Bardock. He looked exactly like a grown-up Goku. Looking at him and knowing the plot, Qin Yan understood exactly what Bardock had experienced and what he intended to do next.

Looking at the heavily injured Bardock, who would need at least two days to recover, an idea struck Qin Yan a plan that would convince his parents to believe him and leave Planet Vegeta.

Having grasped the current situation, Qin Yan didn't plan to linger. He needed to find his way "home."

Indeed, he had to search for it. Because they had been kept in infant incubation pods since birth, neither of them actually knew where their homes were. After a bit of searching in the Information Management Office, they finally located their family records.

Qin Yan and Liya's homes were located in a prosperous residential district not far outside the Royal City of Planet Vegeta. Coincidentally, the two families lived very close to one another; they were neighbors.

They moved quickly through the streets and alleys. Since they had to hide their Ki, they didn't fly. Furthermore, because they were unfamiliar with their parents' Ki signatures, they couldn't use Instant Transmission and had to travel on foot.

Soon, Qin Yan and Liya had crossed half the city and arrived at a bustling residential complex. They wove through streets lined with lush trees, the air carrying a faint fragrance. Following the address they had gathered, they reached their destination in the blink of an eye: two independent two-story houses. On the left was Qin Yan's home, and on the right was little Liya's.

Standing before the buildings, the two looked at each other and nodded. With a sense of trepidation, they took a deep breath and raised their hands.

Knock, knock, knock!

They knocked on their respective doors simultaneously. Three breaths later, a soft click echoed as the doors slowly opened.

"Who is it?"

Two gentle female voices rang out at once. Before the residents could be seen, their voices filled the air. A moment later, two middle-aged female Saiyans pulled the doors open, looking left and right for whoever had knocked. When they saw no one at eye level, they looked confused, wondering if someone was playing a prank.

"Mom."

Just then, a tender voice drifted up from their feet. Both women looked down quickly and saw a small child. These were indeed the mothers of Qin Yan and Liya.

Qin Yan locked eyes with his mother. In her gaze, he saw confusion turn to shock, and then, in an instant, into wild excitement.

"Son?" Qin Yan's mother asked tentatively.

"Mm-hmm," Qin Yan replied with a nod.

"It really is my child! Karos! Oh my god, how is this possible? Why are you here? Weren't you sent away?" Qin Yan's mother gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Her face was a whirlwind of disbelief, surprise, and joy.

"It's me, Mom. It's hard to explain, but I'm back."

"It really is you, my child! I missed you so much!" In an explosion of excitement, Mellos grabbed Qin Yan and pulled him into a fierce embrace.

Held in his mother's arms, Qin Yan could clearly feel the intensity of her joy. As a member of a warrior race, a female Saiyan's strength was in no way inferior to a male's, and they were incredibly fierce in battle. Being hugged by Mellos felt like being bound by an unbreakable,

reinforced rope; his entire body felt stiff and unable to move. Of course, with his current strength, breaking free would be effortless, but he didn't do it. He allowed his mother to hold him, letting her pour out her years of longing.

"Ahem! Mom, can you let go? I can't breathe," Qin Yan chuckled helplessly after a long moment.

"Oh, right, right! I just got too excited. Come, child, let's go inside. Let me get a good look at you." Realizing her strength, his mother quickly released him, waved her hands awkwardly, and then moved to lead him inside.

As she turned to enter, she noticed the house next door. Seeing Liya's mother, Fuya, talking to a little girl, she asked, "Child, did that little girl come back with you?"

"Yes, Mom. That's Liya, Auntie Fuya's daughter," Qin Yan explained.

"I see. For her to come back with you as well... it's just incredible. Just what happened out there?" His mother's eyes narrowed slightly in wonder, her heart full of questions and curiosity. "Fuya, that's your child, isn't it? She's back too! Come over here, let's all get together."

Qin Yan's mother waved to Liya's mother, inviting them over.

"Yes! It's her! How strange... they actually came back on their own," Liya's mother replied, waving back.

"Come over first," Qin Yan's mother urged. Knowing the street wasn't the place for this conversation, she called them inside.

Under his mother's lead, the four of them entered the house. Once inside, the two mothers began fussing over them with warm concerns. They started by asking about their lives over the past few years and then moved to how they had returned, as it should have been impossible for them to complete their mission and return to Planet Vegeta so quickly.

Qin Yan and Liya began to recount their experiences after leaving the planet. they focused on the highlights and shared only what they felt they could. The little girl was quite the storyteller, describing interesting moments and close calls with such emotion that the two mothers were moved to laughter and occasional shouts of surprise.

Though Qin Yan and Liya spoke with casual ease, the mothers knew deep down that these two children must have suffered greatly out there. Pity and love filled their hearts as they pulled their children into their arms once more.

As for exactly how they returned, Qin Yan chose not to tell them yet, only saying he would explain soon. Helpless to do otherwise, the mothers didn't press him. Seeing their children return safely was enough for them.

Qin Yan didn't see his father, Benas, at home, so he asked his mother about it. He learned that his father and Liya's father, Sith, were still at work and would be back a bit later. The two mothers, delighted by the reunion, set about preparing a grand feast to reward the children.

As evening approached, the fathers returned. Upon seeing Qin Yan and Liya, their reactions differed from the mothers'. There was a flash of confusion and surprise, but it was quickly replaced by a profound coldness. In their eyes,

Qin Yan and Liya were of the Low-class Saiyan bloodline a stain on their pride. Thus, they didn't hold their children in high regard. Qin Yan didn't take it to heart; he had expected this outcome long ago.

After a hearty dinner, Qin Yan revealed the news about King Vegeta's plan to revolt against Frieza and Frieza's intention to destroy Planet Vegeta. He urged them to leave with him immediately.

However, his words were met with loud mockery. They claimed such a thing was impossible, completely dismissing the warning and even telling Qin Yan not to spread such nonsense.

They assumed the children were simply struggling to readapt, perhaps even suffering from some illness or mental confusion. They told Qin Yan and Liya to get some rest, convinced they would be better in a few days.

Qin Yan didn't over-explain. He knew that further words were useless. He would wait a few days and let them see the truth with their own eyes.
