Chapter 7 - Part 6:When the soul calls

"Aami, when you think like a normal person... if we get a partner who cares for us deeply, loves us, and is possessive of us—what will you do aami...?"

It was Vysh speaking.

Aami added with a smile, "I would marry him! Can we really just throw away someone who loves us without ever getting tired of it, for a whole lifetime?"

Ami replied playfully, "Right, Daddy?"

She then glanced toward Jagannath...

"Aren't there plenty of humans in this world, Ami? Is it because they aren't enough that my daughter is marrying something that is half-human and half-wolf?"

He was joking, and everyone laughed. But Mummy alone sat there, lost in some deep thought.

"What happened, Mummy?" Miya asked.

"A werewolf isn't just a fantasy creature. There are some truths within those stories... I don't know exactly what they are... even if there are myths about them, they aren't harmful... they are beings who live strictly according to the laws of the Universe..."

Mummy finished her part, washed her hands, and got up. After that, no one said anything. Since it was already getting late, everyone slowly turned back to their own busy routines.

When Aami finally got a break from her busy schedule at the hospital, the first person she called was Amelia's husband, Adam. She asked if she could meet him. Adam knew Aami.

It was Adam who had brought Amelia to Aami, thinking that perhaps her changes were due to some mental struggle and that she needed counseling.

Adam replied immediately, giving her the name of a famous coffee house in town and suggesting they meet there.

Accordingly, Aami left the hospital early. Without much delay, she reached the address he had given. Aami sat down across from him, offered her hand, and greeted him with a warm smile.

A face full of sorrow... Ami felt that Adam had still not been able to accept Amelia leaving him.

"Do you have any information about Amelia...?" Aami asked after taking a long breath.

In response, he gave a dry smile that made Aami feel deep sympathy for him. She felt a sense of anger toward Amelia... but Amelia was a woman who had gone through a terrifying situation that no one else ever had in their life. Even today, Aami could not understand if it was a delusion of the mind or a reality... that thought itself caused her a great deal of unease.

If it were true, could anyone even imagine Amelia's condition?

"What actually happened...?"

Aami felt she needed to know everything from the beginning... and perhaps Adam was the one who could explain it to her.

Adam was a young, handsome man... if stood next to Amelia, they were a perfect pair. Amelia was seventeen when she first fell in love with Adam. It was a beautiful time of romance while they were both studying... a time when they shared their hearts and bodies, moving forward through small disagreements and even more reconciliations.

They got married when they were twenty-one... it wasn't an early marriage they had planned, but by then, their eldest son, Edwin, was already with them.

The families themselves had taken the initiative to bring them together. Three years after Edwin was born, Edward was born as well. It was a happy marriage.

Three months ago, Adam and Amelia went on a trip . As part of a trekking trip, they went to Courtine Falls. One day, they stayed in a tent and then returned. There were no problems at that time.

However, after being home for two or three days, she would constantly tell Adam,

"Adam, I feel like someone is following me".

But Adam never felt anything like that.

In between this, when the children went outside, she would tell them to be careful and claimed she had seen a wolf. Normally, wolves are not common in those areas. They are usually seen deep in the forests. Adam never noticed any such wolf tracks. He wondered why she was talking like this.

Later, she started appearing very gloomy... she was always seen lost in thought about something.

"What does 'Mate' mean...?" she asked one day.

"Mate... that word has a power... a power that can only be felt when one is surrounded by an energy we cannot see or hear...".

"Mate... it means partner... when you say partner, it means half... is this 'half' a husband and wife relationship? It is... but it is the 'true' partner..."

It's about the other half of one's soul... if that's the case, is Adam really my soulmate...?.

One must think carefully before answering her questions. While romance, love, and passion are thought to exist between opposite genders, they aren't necessarily soulmates... there are many factors involved... but in a single word, if you were to define it, it's "completeness".

That is the answer... when we meet someone and become one with them, we feel a sense of completeness in every way in life. A life where you cannot imagine a world or an existence without that one person who is with you in this life.

While Aami was thinking about Adam, the words Amelia had spoken in front of her came to mind....

"Doctor,

I love Adam a lot, but after Edon came and stood before me, my mind was being drawn to him without me even realizing it. Such a handsome young man... at first, I thought he was just flirting... otherwise, would someone follow someone like me...?".

"But when he touches me, it wasn't my body, but my soul that he was grasping... it was my inner mind that he wanted... it was like a bell ringing in my ear that your completeness is in him".

She said... "I would get angry... I would try to suppress those feelings as mere illusions... because Edon never appeared in front of everyone... when I was alone in the house, or walking, he would suddenly appear like a speck of dust... then wouldn't I wonder if he was real...?".

The face of a girl sitting helplessly before her filled her memory... the mind and heart of a woman who had been plunged into a crisis by someone who completely changed a life that had no world beyond Adam...
