Chapter 6 - Secret of light

At that moment, Victor was pondering the secret of the necklaces, how to use them, the purpose of the journals, and what dangerous secrets they concealed.

He said to himself: "Why did Uncle Ternal choose only me?"

He was bewildered, gazing at the necklace William had given him.

The necklace began to glow, emitting a blindingly strong light.

Victor started to feel as though the necklace was calling him, inviting him to enter within it to uncover its secrets.

Suddenly, the specter of "Ternal" appeared before him, speaking in a deep voice filled with mystery:

"Victor, I happened to see the meteor fall in the northern desert of our city, and I do not know why I was the only one who saw it.

I thought about crafting necklaces from it and selling them—as you know, I am a jewelry designer.

However, I discovered that these necklaces, forged from the meteor, possess supernatural power.

I tested them myself; their power was devastating, beyond the comprehension of an ordinary human mind.

I documented everything in my journals. Yet, what I did not know was that certain individuals were monitoring me. They knew of the necklaces' power and intended to exploit them in schemes to control the world.

As you are aware, I crafted 55 necklaces. Five of them mutated, transforming into living entities.

If these necklaces are used incorrectly, they will possess the user's body, dominate their mind, and turn them into a emotionless monstrosity.

Five individuals who stole the necklaces lost their humanity, becoming mere vessels for the necklaces.

However, whoever uses them correctly shall become powerful and capable of aiding people.

I chose you because you are trustworthy; I know you can save the world and help humanity."

Victor stood pale, wishing to speak, but before he could utter a word, his uncle's specter informed him:

"I am merely a recorded message within the necklace."

Victor was astonished, muttering to himself: "Am I dreaming, or what is this?"

Then his uncle continued:

"I want you to focus intently on my words. Even your parents were users of the necklaces. Your father strayed and transformed into a monstrosity, while your mother was killed by Ravilo Cartini.

He stole 35 necklaces from me; five of them mutated, thirty are held by evil organizations, and fifteen I entrusted to my friend William for safekeeping.

You must learn their secrets.

As for the journals, you will find the first part with William. You must read them carefully, as they contain many secrets regarding the necklaces and how to utilize them.

It falls upon you to dismantle those organizations. Surely, William has already taught you the paths of the fifteen necklaces and how to wield them.

Listen, my son, use them wisely. Do not worry; William and the others will always assist you.

Farewell..."

Victor sat on a chair in the library, bewildered, quietly and deeply contemplating his uncle's words.

Meanwhile, William was in the old city, searching for their friends—the other necklace bearers—to convene a meeting at the headquarters of the "Secret Elite Network" organization. His goal was to inform them about Victor and begin training and preparing him to fight the villains.

As he walked through the old market of the Victorian-era city, amidst the voices of vendors and shoppers, his friend "Nicholas Rain" intercepted him. Nicholas, his former comrade-in-arms, communicated via telepathy to avoid attracting anyone's attention.

Teasingly, Nicholas said: "Are you alright, you fool?"

Nicholas, a veteran warrior and hunter of werewolves and shapeshifters, now retired, replied: "Is that you, man? You haven't changed! And neither have you, just as I remember. You remain exactly as you were."

William responded: "Enough jesting. Where are the rest of our friends?

I have found Ternal's nephew, the boy Victor, and told him everything.

We must act quickly. As you know, when that meteor fell, time itself was affected. Ternal sacrificed his life to correct the timeline.

Four years passed in the blink of an eye; that impact altered the temporal map."

Nicholas said: "I do not know, but we shall search for them. I have missed fighting and my sword dearly."

William replied sarcastically: "I thought you were still hunting, but it seems you retired too early. Can you still fight?"

Nicholas answered: "Do you wish to test me?"

William laughed and said: "I was joking with you. As usual, you do not understand humor."

Nicholas retorted: "You know me well; there is no need to feign ignorance. I love combat and despise jokes."

They continued walking toward the heart of the old city when they spotted a group of strangers dressed in elegant black attire.

William looked at Nicholas and asked: "Are you ready to fight once again?"
