"Someone has entered the Nether."
Hearing the announcement, Galen Yu was slightly surprised.
But that was all.
The rewards for unlocking the Nether weren't particularly generous—in fact, they were rather paltry—and they wouldn't have any real impact.
As for Ronan Mountwell, it was a mystery how he had learned the method for using obsidian.
But Galen Yu believed that even with that knowledge, it would be extremely difficult to survive in Hell.
It was indeed a new dimension, and it was certainly far more dangerous; one slip-up could lead to being hunted by Ghasts or falling into lava.
There were also Blazes, Wither Skeletons, Zombie Piglins, and other such creatures.
Even veteran players could face sudden death if they weren't careful, let alone a novice.
Even if he were lucky enough to stumble upon a Nether Fortress, it would be difficult to retrieve anything from it.
The events outside didn't affect Galen Yu's progress; he had gathered enough iron ore, and with the time remaining, he wanted to modify his simple mob-spawning platform.
Since there were no diamonds in the Resource Zone, the only way to obtain them was through villagers.
There were no villagers in the wild, so Galen Yu planned to create his own.
'First, I'll stack stone to build a platform twenty-three blocks high, then expand it in four directions...'
With a cobblestone generator, the Sky Island was least lacking in stone.
As he began his construction, the viewers from the Nine Provinces grew immensely anxious.
"What's going on? Great One, don't go back to the Sky Island!"
"You can't find gold mines there! Go find diamonds!"
"A Diamond Pickaxe can even mine obsidian; a Diamond Sword certainly won't be mediocre!"
"Others have time limits, but we don't have to worry about that. It's the perfect time for exploration!"
"Ronan Mountwell found it deep in the mining area; I bet diamonds only spawn in the deep layers!"
"We didn't find them before probably because we haven't explored the deep layers yet!"
"If you go too late, others will pick the place clean. This is urgent!"
Their anxiety was not without reason.
The moment Ronan Mountwell brandished his Diamond Pickaxe, many nations immediately sent warnings to their contestants through their respective means.
In the Indus Kingdom, a sudden sign interrupted Kapil's busy activities.
Pulling up his pants, he walked out with a look of deep annoyance.
A snow-white sheep could be vaguely seen inside the room.
"Is there anything that couldn't have waited until later?"
Kapil grumbled as he walked out, finishing his dressing.
Despite his words, he knew they wouldn't waste a precious item to contact him without reason, so he read the sign carefully.
It conveyed two main points: first, that obsidian and a flint and steel could open a new dimension, and second, information regarding diamonds.
"There's a mineral even more precious than gold!"
Although he couldn't mine obsidian for now, the mention of diamonds instantly revitalized Kapil.
His irritation from being interrupted vanished, replaced by high spirits as he mounted his warhorse.
"It's a pity the diamonds discovered earlier were taken, but it doesn't matter."
"As long as they exist, I will find them again sooner or later!"
The natural advantage of his warhorse allowed him to explore many places that were inaccessible to others.
Kapil rushed into the Resource Zone, searching for the deep recesses of every cave.
Freedom Nation.
After slaying a sufficient number of spiders, Mark and Jett had each crafted their own bows.
"Twenty arrows... that should be enough to kill an Iron Golem, right?"
He reconsidered.
With so many resources here, Mark was determined to build his home in this area; he couldn't bear to leave.
Compared to the starting chunk, the Resource Zone was like the real world; that dumpy place couldn't even compare!
Thus, he was convinced that even if Galen Yu had moved the bulk of his supplies, there must be other rich resources remaining in that wooden cabin!
Otherwise, why would there be an Iron Golem guarding it?
Just as he was eager to set out and attack the Iron Golem, Jett received a notification.
"Samurai Nation has obtained new information: diamonds and obsidian!"
Compared to dealing with Galen Yu, new equipment was definitely more enticing.
"Then we'll let him live for two more nights. We'll find diamonds first and then come back for him!"
Quickly reaching a conclusion, Mark also embarked on the journey to find diamonds.
No warning was needed for Kira Oakmoor; she had already learned about the diamonds from Ronan Mountwell.
Except for those who simply lacked the tools, almost everyone began to abandon gold mining in favor of searching for the new resource: diamonds!
Sky Island.
After more than half a day of work, the mob platform had evolved into a mob grinder.
The height was set just right so that the monsters wouldn't die from the fall, leaving them in a state where a single strike could finish them.
Six wooden planks and a stick—signs didn't serve to transmit information here.
However, they could be placed at the top, and by adding vines, the falling height of the monsters could be controlled.
There were two layers in total, divided into four areas, utilizing the mechanics of mob spawning in darkness and their random pathfinding.
He then added water flows to wash every fallen monster to the bottom, where Galen Yu would finish the kills.
The benefit was that he didn't need to wait for night; there was a continuous stream of monsters falling at all times.
The downside was the low efficiency.
After observing for an afternoon, many Zombies and Skeletons did indeed appear.
But for some reason, the Zombie Villagers he desired were nowhere to be found.
'That's strange. Why is the probability so low?'
He pondered how to improve the design or whether other factors were interfering.
Far from the Sky Island.
Soren Park sat sipping mushroom soup with a leisurely expression.
Thanks to that heavy rain, over the last two days, besides finding a bowl and a crafting table, he had spent all his time searching for Ender Pearls.
He had gathered more than thirty, enough to not worry about travel distances for a month.
'He's not going to the Resource Zone. What is Galen Yu doing on the Sky Island?'
He couldn't understand the mob grinder, but he could vaguely tell it was related to monsters.
Soren Park couldn't fathom it; with resources available to find, why was Galen Yu bothering with monsters here?
The viewers from the Stick Nation were equally perplexed.
"What good things can you even get from monsters?"
"Besides rotten flesh for food, the most valuable thing would be iron ingots, right?"
"He has a whole iron mine. Why look for iron here instead of going outside?"
"Forget it, don't worry about him. Soren Park, hurry to the Resource Zone!"
"Find diamonds in the deep layers and strike it rich!"
"We don't have signs in our Stick Nation, so we can't send him reminders."
"And there are mining limits, too. Sigh."
After their sighs, the Stick Nation viewers felt a wave of intense jealousy toward Galen Yu.
He had mining attempts and an exclusive chunk, yet he stayed hidden on his Sky Island instead of going out!
Such a waste! If only that opportunity were given to them!
After a quick meal to fill his belly, Soren Park stood up and threw an Ender Pearl.
"I haven't used today's mining yet. I'll go find some resources first!"
After the sensation of weightlessness, he arrived at the familiar Resource Zone.
"Where did all this snow on the ground come from? Useless stuff. Why is it in my inventory? Get rid of it!"
"That must be Galen Yu's chunk. What a massive guard. It looks incredibly strong; I'd better not get any ideas about those pumpkins over there."
"Huh? Freedom Nation, Samurai Nation... what are they doing?"
As he walked past the scenery, he was once again filled with envy for Galen Yu's treatment.
Though he hadn't received a warning, Soren Park keenly noticed that something was amiss.
Instead of looking for gold, why were the other players all searching for caves and heading into the deep layers?
He knew this lot well; there was only one thing that could motivate them all to act this way.
Profit!
"There's treasure in the deep layers!"
Immediately reaching a conclusion, Soren Park's eyes sparkled.
"Time to mine!"
