Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Others Raise Animals, You Raise Zombies?

They searched the resource area for a long time.

Mark and Jett could never find any trace of diamonds.

Instead, they gathered a lot of gold ore, and their bodies were covered in golden equipment.

As daily resources were turned into the hopper, Mark heard a voice in the distance.

"My god, Jett, look at that!"

They didn't see the Iron Golem fight, but when they came out...

Galen Yu had already finished the transformation and left, leaving behind a mess.

There was no shortage of rotten flesh or food, but the key was the Iron Golem!

After the battle, it was tattered all over, with cracks appearing in several places, reaching moderate damage.

"This is our best chance to act!"

With only half an hour left before forced teleportation, they shared a glance.

The two stopped looking for diamonds and aimed their target at the Iron Golem.

"This big guy must have good stuff on him!"

The stronger the monster, the better the drops; this was common knowledge.

Having actually experienced battle with an Iron Golem, Mark was certain.

This thing was one of the most powerful creatures on the surface!

He didn't know why its status was so poor now, nor did he need to.

As long as they killed the Iron Golem, the good stuff would be theirs!

Sensing Freedom Nation's move, the Nine Provinces' audience spat in disgust.

"The disgusting stinking rats are at it again!"

"It just fought zombies for so long; the big guy's condition must be bad!"

"Damn, we didn't see you before, but now you come when it's low on health?"

"Just like the Stick Nation, they're nothing but trash!"

"Shameless bastards, why didn't you die in the mines?"

Having just survived a fierce battle and coming to scavenge while Galen Yu was away, the duo's actions were utterly repulsive in the eyes of the audience.

But the bullet chat could not influence the players' actions.

Crouching low, Jett gradually approached the Iron Golem.

Without entering the chunk, the aggro mechanism wouldn't trigger, so Jett stopped right at the edge of the range.

He immediately took out a bow and notched an arrow.

Whoosh!

The arrow struck the Iron Golem and bounced off, sparks flying at the point of impact.

"Hit!"

The bow dealt damage, and the Iron Golem looked toward Jett.

Realizing this was an intruder, it ran at its fastest speed, attempting to launch an attack.

Seizing the gap, he fired another arrow for damage. When the Iron Golem got close...

Mark jumped out from the side and slashed with the golden sword in his hand.

Snap!

Metal collided; the Iron Golem took damage, and the cracks on its body deepened.

"There's a chance!"

Seeing this detail, Mark raised his shield to block the Iron Golem's attack.

The shield block went on cooldown. Jett promptly pulled out his bow to draw aggro, then used his shield to resist the attack.

The two cooperated perfectly; in one round, they hacked away over a dozen health points from the Iron Golem!

With experience and the ranged wear-down of the bow, this battle became much simpler.

Occasionally, one would be sent flying by the Iron Golem because of the shield cooldown, but with the error tolerance of the golden armor, they could quickly recover their status.

"It's about to break!"

The wounds grew heavier, and the Iron Golem's speed and attacks became slower and slower.

An arrow was fired, and the cracks on its body reached their limit.

Mark tanked the damage and swung the final blow.

Falling from the sky once more, the white iron monster finally collapsed!

"That was close!"

Hurriedly taking out food, Mark panted as he rested.

After the battle, the durability of his golden equipment was more than half gone.

With only four hearts left, he almost went to see God.

Jett was in no better state; the arrows he had worked so hard to save were nearly all consumed.

"Good thing it was low on health!"

If it had been a full-health Iron Golem, they really might not have been able to win.

Fortunately, it had been worn down beforehand and was in poor condition, allowing them to scavenge a kill!

Seeing the Iron Golem die with their own eyes, the people of Freedom Nation felt proud of the two.

"Mark, you guys did it!"

"The guardian of the Nine Provinces is dead; their chunk is completely defenseless!"

"The resources will all be ours, hahaha!"

"The Iron Golem probably wasted a lot of resources to make. Aren't you mad it's been killed by us?"

"Trash should stay in the trash pile; our Freedom Nation is the rightful number one!"

The Nine Provinces' audience watching Mark's perspective was momentarily speechless.

The Iron Golem was indeed strong, but...

They had seen Galen Yu's crafting process—just a few iron blocks and a pumpkin head—it really wasn't that precious.

Even the drops were the same.

When Mark recovered a few health points, he went to the location of the Iron Golem's death with high expectations.

A few iron ingots and a small red flower.

That was the entirety of the Iron Golem's drops.

"Jett, did you pick up some precious resources?"

Iron ingots were worthless; thinking the items had been picked up, Mark turned and asked.

"Didn't you pick them up? I just finished recovering and came over too."

Jett looked completely bewildered. He pointed at the iron ingots and asked tentatively:

"The drops from that big guy... are just these?"

Confirming that Jett hadn't picked anything up, Mark's face became incredibly gloomy.

So, after all their hard work, thinking day and night...

...spending days without sleep coming up with tactics just to deal with it, all for a few iron ingots and a flower?

This stuff wasn't even worth a gold ingot!

"Maybe it's just our bad luck and it didn't drop the most precious materials. Forget it."

"Let's go look inside the house!"

Pointing toward the iron mine cabin, Mark regained his composure.

The Iron Golem exists to protect the chunk; the resources must be in the house!

It hadn't been renovated; the small wooden cabin still had a basic wooden door that anyone could open.

Opening the door, the two rushed into the room to search.

But the scene they imagined—a room full of chests—did not appear.

There was only a bed, a basic crafting table, a furnace, and other tools.

Not a single chest existed!

"It must be hidden in this extra expanded space over here!"

Having observed every day, Mark was sure this place hadn't been in the cabin before.

It must have been specially built for storage; there must be a lot of stuff inside!

It was sealed with stone, so Mark started digging directly.

He had only dug out one block when a strange sound came from inside.

"Hmph?"

Splosh!

A splash potion of harming was thrown, hitting Mark square on the head.

His health hadn't fully recovered yet, and in his haste to loot treasures, taking that hit left Mark with only two hearts.

He was truly one step away from death!

Jett reacted quickly, filling the stone back in and propping up the fallen Mark.

"How is it? Are you okay?"

Enwrapped in various negative effects, he could only walk out of the room with Jett's support.

"I won't die!"

After eating something to restore his health to over three hearts, Mark panted heavily.

The time was brief, but he clearly saw there were no treasure chests in that space—only one thing.

Monsters!

Two monsters sitting in a boat!

He really couldn't figure it out.

Even half a chest of resources would have been fine, but to leave nothing in a perfectly good room...

...and instead build a room specifically to raise zombies?

He could understand others raising pigs or sheep, but what was the point of raising zombies and witches?

Monsters can be farmed specifically?

The audience who had just been cheering for Mark was even more dumbfounded.

They had finally killed the Iron Golem, costing them nearly two sets of golden equipment.

As it turned out, the Iron Golem dropped nothing, and there were no supplies in the room!

The witch's potion almost killed Mark.

After all their hard work and effort, they ended up looking like clowns?!
