The air was already heavy with tension, brilliance from the diamonds scattering across the ceiling like fractured starlight, when Terrence moved again. No warning, no dramatic inhale. He simply stepped back once and went down on one knee. The sound of fabric against marble was unbearably loud in the silence. Wanessa's hand flew to her mouth while Aiden choked on absolutely nothing.
"Oh, this is structurally catastrophic."Michael whispered.
Xavier did not speak, Zavier did not blink. Terrence knelt in front of me, posture straight, not submissive, anchored. The diamond ring rested in his palm, steady despite the charged atmosphere.
