Bella's POV
The next morning, I woke before dawn. Christmas had arrived.
This was my first time truly feeling the holiday's magic.
Laughter and cheerful voices filled the courtyard as servants hurried between the kitchen and yard.
When they spotted me, they all stopped to offer warm greetings. "Merry Christmas, Miss Fairfax!"
I decided to give each staff member an extra month's salary for Christmas.
Their joy was infectious, and seeing their bright faces made my own spirits lift.
The courtyard gleamed spotlessly, decorated with lanterns and colorful ribbons draped across the trees that lined the stone walkway.
Beyond the servants, house guards had also gathered.
The entire estate felt peaceful—exactly the mood I'd hoped for.
"Miss Fairfax, I heard there'll be fireworks tonight! If we eat dinner quickly, we can watch them," Penny bubbled with excitement. "They're saying this year's display will be incredible. All different shapes and colors!"
