Bella's POV
The drizzle transformed into a heavy downpour, flooding the streets with rushing water.
Streetlights along both sides created a misty radiance on the wet pavement, giving the night an otherworldly calm and poetic charm.
I leaned back in the carriage, turning my head toward the window. My eyelashes trembled delicately, resembling delicate butterfly wings.
A soft smile curved my lips as I lost myself in the enchanting scenery beyond the glass.
Penny couldn't resist prodding me, "Lady Bella, even with this storm raging, Lord Julian still insists on meeting you for coffee. What could possibly be so pressing that it can't wait?"
I understood Penny's implications and gave her forehead a gentle flick. "You're such a troublemaker. Lord Julian obviously has something significant to discuss with me, which is why he asked me out. It's simply coffee. You're making it far more complicated than it needs to be."
