With elegant grace, Ivy lifted the coffee pot and filled Jasper's cup with the steaming brew, her every movement soft and considerate.
Jasper had little choice but to pull back his hand and settle into the chair opposite her. "I should have come to see you earlier, but work has kept me buried. Today was the first chance I had to break free."
He reached into his robes and retrieved a small box, setting it carefully on the table between them. "Go ahead, open it. Tell me what you think."
Ivy lifted the box and peered inside, discovering an exquisite compact of rouge nestled within.
Her face brightened with pure joy. She held the rouge close, breathing in its sweet scent before nodding enthusiastically. "It's beautiful. Everything you give me, Jasper, means the world to me."
