Amara's POV
I sat in the police interrogation room while Monica glared at me from across the table, her eyes bloodshot with fury. My distracted expression seemed to fuel her rage even more.
Monica's fist crashed against the table repeatedly. "I'm telling you, this little witch just assaulted me. She won't walk away from this without consequences. I'll see this through to the bitter end.
If I don't, none of you will have peace!"
The officers shifted uncomfortably. "Mrs. Kensington, please keep your composure. We'll handle this dispute according to proper legal procedures."
Monica's eyes blazed. "Dispute? This is assault! That brat gave my daughter a concussion and landed her in the hospital, then had the nerve to strike me right here in front of you.
She belongs behind bars!"
The officers rubbed their temples in frustration. "Mrs. Kensington, watch your language. She's underage. And the gossip your daughter was spreading at school was genuinely harmful."
