Dominic's POV
Quentin went dead silent. After what felt like forever, he finally spoke up. "How can you be so certain Amara's the one calling the shots?"
"At Dark Abyss Penitentiary, she deliberately helped me break out and walked away without a scratch. What more proof do you need?" I shot back.
Dark Abyss Penitentiary wasn't some place where you could talk your way out of trouble.
Helping a prisoner escape, whether on purpose or by accident, meant death.
Yet Amara let me walk free and nothing happened to her.
Obviously, she wasn't just some regular person.
"Hold up... This world's getting crazy. A teenage girl..." Quentin still couldn't wrap his head around it.
I gave him a sideways look. "So what if she's young? When I was her age, I was slicing through enemy lines like they were made of paper!"
Quentin stopped, then something seemed to click. "Oh yeah, Commander Harrison sent word. He wants you out of the country immediately."
My mind was still stuck on Amara.
