Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Mists of Ghosts

The two walked in the pathway as they ventured towards the settlement camp of Gods. The wind was heavily battering their clothes and haven't met problems so far. And also, even walking for many miles now, Sun still haven't felt tired. He could even run at full pace and none of it felt tiring. None at all!

"So, this is the feeling of ascending huh."

They ventured for more miles, and they haven't felt tired at all. His body felt light and not even a drop of sweat could be seen trickling on his face. It was like he has all his burden lifted up since he arrived in this world. As they walked by, they saw a majestice scenery.

There were floating islands above them that was having falls of water sprinkling the air with moist. It felt unnatural as how does this islands float in the air without the hindrance of gravity. Passing through the said place was truly majestic experience for Sun Xian. It was his first time seeing one in his entire life.

The travel was not long, and they were nearing to arrive just in the afternoon. The sun was about to set, and the mist was starting to cloud their way. Then Eli explained, "There were ghosts that appear when the mists arrive. It is called the Mist of ghosts. Better to stay close to me young God." Eli was explaining... then he lit up his torch. The ghosts tried to approach them, and Sun Xian was nearly panicking as they moved closer and closer to them.

"Finished?" Sun saw some of them to get close enough and one strangled him. He fought back and punched one on the face, but it was not effective. it felt like they could not feel pain at all!

"Are you finished?" Sun was now worried, now that the more he hurt them, the more they became fiercer and madder. He was now surrounded, and Sun was feeling helpless. "Eli...." he spoke, worried and his voice wavering.

"Not yet," Eli said as he poured oil to the torch.

Shreeekkkkk!!!

They attacked with their ghastly voice and surrounded Sun. He immediately wrestled with them, and he was being choked by several ones. He used his strength this time and they were all blown to the force. They were punched and kicked by him and they felt agitated.

One ghost was kicked on the face and it shrieked to his face then Sun head butted it. Sun was more agitated than them if Eli would just imagine. HIs blood was raging in annoyance. He might want to massacre them all but they kept coming. Even stronger than before. He also wanted to snap their necks, but they were still alive even after it all. He was confused as how to deal with these pests. He could hardly believe that he was having a hard time with these creatures.

"Still not finished?" Sun was struggling to free from their grasp.

"Ah there...." Eli sparked the flint, and it lit up. Sun was all mobbed by the ghosts and had to wrestle with some of them. He was grappled by one and he struggled to break free. Eli nearly laughed and he approached them with his torch. Seeing this and they fled from the light.

"Thanks!" Sun spoke, "But what took you so long? That was the most embarrassing part of my life...."

"Hahaha wait for it, there's more soon." Eli patted his back.

The moon was shining above, and it was way bigger than the moon of Earth. It felt like it was as the same size of this planet itself. Or is it this twin planet of this world itself? Making him think that they were just part of some speck of this universe.

"Looking at the Demon World?" Eli asked.

"Wait it's a planet? Demon World huh, wait it is the world of demons?" Sun asked.

"It was a moon of our own, but demons found that world habitable and made it their outpost. Later on, became a Hideout expansion of their world." Eli said to him.

"Once in a year, portals from the demon world opens and they will attack full force. I survived for so many decades now, and who knows when I will die." Eli said sadly.

"I don't know when that happens. But I am resilient and tough nut to crack. I will live for more centuries." Eli mumbled, while Sun was not barely listening. He was still on edge after all those fighting with the vermin ghosts. It will be etched in his mind, and he would remember it all through his life. A lasting impression in his mind to keep.

"Hey, you listening? I was talking here about my sad fate." He spoke.

"Ugh, um yeah. I just will remember these ghost faces haunting in my dreams. You speaking about what again?" Sun questioned.

"Ah you are not listening at all! Do that and if I will tell about something important and you miss it then you are doomed." Eli said to him quite concerned.

"Um yep, I am still adjusting to this whole mess. It seems being a God is not easy huh." He spoke sadness etched in his face.

"Ah, that again. You need to be strong enough. More problems will come. You see, you are still new to this and you will face more problems ahead. You have to be stronger than before.

"The Eternity is not so easy as you think child. You have to act like a God. And we will face this all mess as well as the others. You got me and as well as the other Gods. We will survive this." He patted his back then smiled.

"Let's hurry, my torch will not hold out. Once we arrive at the camp, then we will fetch you something to be an armour and weapons." Eli said then he lit up another torch. He gave it to Sun then they continued the path.

They followed the road and then they arrived at the nearest camp. There were torches on the entrance to keep ghosts at bay and give off light at the same time. It felt surreal as they entered the entrance.

"We have arrived, to the Camp of the Gods!"
