Ely: And what happens when it is exhausted?
They didn't say anything, but their looks said a lot.
Iriel: I feel we'll vanish.
Her voice was low, filled with emotion.
Hazel: Don't worry. We'll figure it out soon.
She tried to reassure them, even though she knew it would never be enough to convince them that they would live.
Ely: No. If there is a way, you guys would have done it when we were unconscious.
His words were filled with fear. He wasn't ready to face the reality of death now.
Alicia: And Alvarox is still out there. We can't just die this way.
The way her voice shook showed that she was afraid, but there was also a hint of vengeance in it.
Ryan tried to compose himself under the tension of death.
Ryan: There is no other way. We really need to stay alive.
He loosened his composure for a moment, revealing how frightened he really was.
Ely: I didn't say my goodbyes.
He held back his tears. This was enough already. After all the agony and pain they had gone through just to survive, everything had led to this moment. Death.
They had only delayed it by fighting. Now it felt like the end.
This was the reality of joining the Mart Force. They were only beginning to understand it, and sadly, it felt too late.
Iriel: Think, you guys!
She yelled, her voice commanding out of fear. Hazel and Kylock exchanged glances as if communicating without words.
Kylock: No, no. We agreed about this, Hazel. It's very dangerous.
Hazel: Maybe it's our only chance.
Her words carried a small but powerful spirit of hope.
Ely: What is it?
His voice was loud. What could they possibly be keeping from them when their lives were at stake? If it could save their lives, they needed to hear it.
Hazel: Navan.
Alicia: Navan what?
Her voice was inquisitive.
Hazel: There is a dimensional energy core in Navan that could help.
That was enough to slightly lift the weight hanging over them.
Ryan: We've been there before. So what?
Kylock: Where you've been in Navan is just a part of it. The place is much worse. Even a sick beast could be dangerous there. The creatures are stronger, faster, and capable of shooting energy blasts. They're much more powerful. Besides, you don't have your energy. That would be suicide.
Hazel: And even if you guys escape the beasts, the dimensional core's energy may be too much for your systems to bear. It could cause an explosion.
Ryan: Seems like everything is equivalent to death, but at least the risk is worth a try.
Kylock: What?
He looked shocked and irritated.
Kylock: That's worth the risk?
Iriel: He's right. Who says we'll get eaten? Who says we're going to explode? That's all just a theory. But Alvarox isn't only about us. It's about Marthadon, Earth, and every other dimension. I'm sure that guy won't stop with just one dimension. You've seen what he can do.
Kylock was flabbergasted.
Hazel: Actually, maybe they're right. There are possible ways to survive, and you know we can't do anything here. Their lives are already in danger.
Ely: We all agree here. Yup.
Alicia: We're talking about our lives here, not only about dimensions. Or can you guys take him on yourselves?
Kylock: We may end up losing you guys.(Fearful)
Hazel: We would lose them eventually if we do nothing. Follow me.
They followed her. She took them into the same room and showed them the Speedjet. It was still the same Speedjet, but it looked a bit upgraded.
Ely: Wow, the Speedjet.
He stared at it, mesmerized.
Alicia: I thought it was destroyed.
Hazel: Yeah. I recreated it because it will be useful at times like this, and I gave it a few upgrades.
They walked closer to it.
Kylock: What are we waiting for? We don't have much time.
His voice was a little tense.
Hazel: Not yet.
She pressed a section of the wall beside her. It opened, revealing a safe. Inside was something that looked like a briefcase. She took it out and opened it.
Inside were four flat, stone-like devices.
Hazel handed them to the four of them. Immediately, each device connected to their chests.
Hazel: It will help draw energy from the core, but it can't protect you if the energy causes an explosion.
Iriel: Okay.
Hazel: Remember…
Ely: Safety first.
Hazel nodded.
Kylock: Let's go.
He entered the jet using the automated stairs.
Ely: Wait, wait.
Kylock paused.
Ely: Do we even have a plan?
Kylock: It's simple. I distract the beast while you guys get your powers back.
Ryan: I bet it's easier said than done.
Kylock entered the jet. They all knew it wouldn't be easy, but they would rather die trying than sit there and wait for death.
They all marched into the jet.
Hazel went back to the fortress's control room.
They all sat down. The room was filled with silence. It was enough to communicate how dangerous this was.
Either they survived, or they didn't.
Iriel moved closer to Ryan.
Iriel: I feel you're afraid.
She said it almost silently.
Ryan: Halfly. But I have a feeling we won't break.
His words relieved her a little. She didn't move away. Instead, she stayed close, as if sharing his warmth and bravery inside the jet.
The journey was quiet.
No questions. No words. No distractions.
Everyone was focused on the journey. Their hearts pounded rapidly, and even the captain was a little tense.
The jet moved quickly through the usual choking atmosphere of darkness, with skulls floating around them. It was eerie, but it wasn't their first time.
This time, there were no blasts or energy balls.
The jet safely landed on the hard ground of Navan.
Its door opened like an elevator door, releasing the usual foggy air. Thunder roared around them as they stepped out.
The jet flew back up.
Kylock: We're done. It could find us.
Ely: We're here now. No turning back.
Kylock: Follow me.
They walked in the opposite direction from where they had gone the last time.
Something inside them was ticking, as if something was waiting for them.
This was Navan. Practically everywhere was monitored by creatures.
God knows why, but they kept their heads low.
The silence was so deep that they continued walking without saying a word.
It was getting weirder.
Ely: So, where is this pool of energy?
He was trying to break the silence.
Kylock: There.
He pointed ahead to a greenish-looking mountain. Holographic thunder surrounded it, while a bluish force field covered its surface. It was clearly visible from afar.
They continued walking.
Suddenly, Kylock stopped.
His expression changed.
They had been fine getting this far, but something was wrong.
Ryan: What?
His heart seemed to stop for a moment.
Kylock: This place is weirdly silent. Nothing is happening.
Alicia: Is that good or bad?
Kylock: I don't know. Just keep moving and keep your eyes up.
They continued walking.
Kylock suddenly paused again.
Something was coming.
Almost instantly, a gigantic white baboon-like creature, more like a godzilla, landed in front of them.
The impact created an earthquake that shook Navan.
Compared to the creature, they looked like ants.
Half of its body was covered in flames, while the other half was covered in icicles. Its murderous crimson eyes made its already dreadful appearance even more terrifying.
It gave another roar that seemed to freeze the entire place instantly.
Iriel, who was standing close to Ryan, unconsciously held his hand tightly out of fear.
The sight before them left them speechless.
One part of Ryan wanted to react, but the other half of him was frozen with fear.
Iriel adjusted her position.
Ely: Is this what I think it is? A godzilla?
Kylock: The Great Sage Beast.
Literally, their doom.
