“Let me go Henry,” I said coldly. “I am not yours, not anymore.”
Henry scoffed. “You will always be mine. I was your first mate.”
“And yet you rejected me. I don’t need you anymore, I have-”
“Who do you have, Nyssa? Him?” He laughed humorlessly. “You don’t even know who he is.”
Rowan growled, a low warning sound. “Shut the fuck up!”
“Why?” Henry shot back. “Tell her what you’re hiding, Rowan, let’s see if she still loves you after.”

I should have moved on too, but something about the way she left kept a bitter taste at the back of my throat. Nos just because she left without being punished for her involvement with the rogues but also because we were left without answers.


I still didn't know why or how she spoke to the rogues and that grated on my nerves more than I'd like to admit.


I spent the entire day after she left combing through her call logs and her home trying to figure out anything that would tie her to those bastards but there was nothing.


A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts but before I could even answer, it creaked open and in came a familiar drawl. "You've been avoiding me."
