When Cole regained consciousness, he felt as though sleep had wiped his mind clean.
He found himself, laying still on a bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to remember what had happened earlier — But nothing came. No pain. No fear. No memory of the transformation itself. Yet something lingered inside him, a strange heaviness in his chest, familiar and unsettling. It was the same feeling he had experienced the first day he saw the strange words carved into the rock in his house —ancient, powerful, and alive.
Slowly, he sat up.
His body felt normal. Too normal. He lifted his hands, turning them over, half-expecting to see claws or glowing marks, but there was nothing. Still, deep within him, he knew something had changed. He had transformed. He had faced the test. And somehow… he had passed.
The realization sent a quiet shiver down his spine.
After getting ready, he made his way to class. The corridors of the academy buzzed with low conversations and nervous laughter. Everyone looked different — not physically, but in the way they carried themselves. Some walked with pride, others with uncertainty. Each of them had seen something during the test. Each of them had crossed a line they could never uncross.
When he entered the classroom, Oliver, Dominic, and Emma were already there.
Oliver leaned back in her seat, arms folded, her usual confidence shaken just enough to be noticeable. Dominic sat unusually quiet, her eyes distant, as though replaying something only he could see. Emma, on the other hand, looked alert—too alert—her fingers tapping lightly against her desk.
They met at the back of the room, speaking in hushed voices.
"Do you remember anything?" Oliver asked.
He shook his head. "Not the transformation. Just the feeling before it happened."
Emma nodded slowly. "Same here. It felt like something was… watching me. Judging me."
Dominic finally spoke. "Whatever it was, it wasn't just a test. It was a warning."
"Have anyone seen Lenora and Kevin?" Cole asked
They all nodded.
"What about Percy?"
"We haven't seen any of them" Oliver replied
"I thought this is a general announcement?"
Before anyone could respond, the door creaked open.
The room fell silent. Mr. Bruce stepped in.
There was something different about him today. He stood taller, his presence heavier, as if the air itself bent slightly around him. His eyes swept across the class, sharp and knowing, as though he could see straight through every student — past their skin, past their fear, and into what they truly were.
He stopped at the front of the room.
"Good morning," He said calmly.
No one replied.
"I believe you all felt it," Mr. Bruce continued. "I see confusion within everyone's thought."
A few students shifted uneasily.
"I am not here as your teacher today," he said. "I am here as the representative of the supernatural realms — And I mean all of them."
A murmur rippled through the class.
"Werewolves. Vampires. Lycans. And those whose nature is yet to be revealed," He went on. "What you experienced was not just a rite of passage. It was preparation."
He paused, letting the words sink in.
"For generations, this world has trained students to survive their powers," Mr. Bruce said. "But as it stands now, survival is no longer enough"
The room felt colder.
"There is a disturbance beyond the gates," he continued. "An imbalance spreading through the realms. Ancient seals are weakening. Creatures long forgotten are stirring. I know that some of us may not understand"
Oliver straightened. Emma's tapping stopped.
"And because of this," Mr. Bruce said, his voice firm, "The Council has decided."
Every student leaned forward.
"As you were been told before now, the time for the quest has come."
Silence followed — Thick and heavy.
"You will be sent beyond the safety of this realm" Mr. Bruce said. "Not as children. Not as students. But as representatives of your kind."
A knot tightened in his chest.
"This quest will test your loyalty, your strength, and your control," Mr. Bruce added. "Some of you will discover abilities you never knew you had. Others will face truths you wish had remained buried."
He met their eyes, one by one. But later fixed his gaze on Cole.
"And not everyone who leaves… will return the same."
The bell rang, sharp and sudden, but no one moved.
As Mr. Bruce turned toward the door, one thought echoed loudly in his mind:
What ever he had awakened during the test — It was only the beginning.
"Oh, My God!!" Oliver exclaimed, silently.
"How is this so called test gonna be?" She asked
All the students began to discharge themselves out of the hall. Cole just stood there, silently thinking about what his next fate held for him.
"Hey, what's up?" Kevin and Lenora walked up to him.
"Where have you guys been?" Cole asked them
"Well, that doesn't matter. What matters now is how we can sabotage this quest issue!" Kevin said
"Sabotage??.... Are you crazy?. You wanna run away?. Do you even think that's possible?" Lenora was shocked.
"We have to accept it!. We've come this far. What do you think?" Cole asked
"Cool. Things no longer look that strange as usual" Percy interrupted them, as they all walked out of the hall.
