The new world

Chapter 1 — The First Day

Tyson suddenly woke up from his sleep.

His whole body was covered in sweat, and his breathing felt heavy.

"That was a weird dream…"

He stayed silent for a few seconds, trying to remember it, but the dream had already become blurry.

Then his eyes widened.

"Ah! I almost forgot! Today is my first day at the Magical High School!"

Tyson quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to get ready.

A few minutes later, his mother's voice came from downstairs.

"Tyson! Breakfast is ready!"

"I'm coming!"

Tyson hurried to the table and immediately stuffed bread into his mouth like a starving animal.

"Mmgh—!"

He kept eating quickly because he was scared of getting late.

Then he grabbed another piece of bread with his mouth and ran toward the door.

His mother shouted angrily from behind.

"TYSON! At least eat properly!"

"Sorry, Mom! I'm late! Bye!"

And just like that, he rushed out of the house.

---

After some time…

Tyson finally arrived at the school.

The moment he saw the huge campus, he froze.

"Whoa…"

His eyes widened in shock.

"This is the first time in my life I've seen a school this big…"

The academy looked more like a giant castle than a normal school.

Students wearing elegant uniforms walked around proudly while magical lights floated near the buildings.

Tyson slowly walked forward while looking around with excitement.

"Good thing I'm not late…"

Then he suddenly remembered how he crashed into a tree while flying to school earlier.

A helpless smile appeared on his face.

"I seriously need to improve my flying magic… I'm terrible at it."

This school was one of the top magical academies in the country.

Only talented students could enter this place.

The selection rate was less than one percent.

But Tyson knew he didn't belong here.

"I only got admission because of Dad's request…"

He lowered his eyes slightly.

"He probably begged a lot for me…"

Suddenly—

Bump.

Tyson accidentally collided with someone.

"Ouch— Sorry!"

He looked up.

A boy with white hair stood in front of him.

The boy had a calm and cool aura around him.

Tyson almost lost his balance from the collision, but the white-haired student simply glanced at him silently.

Without saying a single word, he casually waved one hand and walked away.

It felt like he had accepted the apology without needing to speak.

Tyson stared at his back.

"What a strange guy…"

---

A little later, Tyson entered the school building while searching for his classroom.

"Class 2-A… where is it…"

As he walked through the hallway, he remembered the white-haired boy again.

"He looked kinda arrogant… but whatever."

Finally, he stopped in front of a classroom door.

"1… 2… 3… Yeah, this is it."

Tyson slowly opened the door and entered.

Inside, many students were already sitting and talking to each other.

Most of them looked confident and talented.

There were many unfamiliar faces.

Then Tyson noticed someone sleeping near the window.

It was the white-haired boy.

"He's in this class too?"

Tyson quietly sat down at an empty seat.

After some time, a teacher entered the classroom.

The students immediately became quiet.

"This year, many new students have joined our academy," the teacher said.

"Soon, there will be an assembly where everyone will introduce themselves. I hope all of you get along well with the new students."

The students listened carefully.

One of them whispered quietly,

"Our school is seriously amazing."

"Of course. This academy only accepts one percent of applicants."

"I heard many talented students joined this year too."

Soon after, all the students gathered in the assembly hall.

The Student Council President stepped forward.

"Now then, let's begin the introductions."

One by one, students introduced themselves.

They talked about their names, powers, magic types, and goals.

Then…

The white-haired boy walked onto the stage.

The hall instantly became quiet.

He placed one hand behind his head casually.

"My reason for joining this school is simple."

His calm voice echoed through the hall.

"I came here because there was no other place left that could teach me."

The students became silent.

"So I have high expectations from this academy."

He looked toward the teachers without fear.

"But if even these teachers fail to teach me anything…"

A faint smirk appeared on his face.

"Then I'll lose interest in this school."

After saying that, he simply walked away from the stage.

The entire hall exploded into whispers.

"What an arrogant guy…"

"Who does he think he is?"

"He's acting too cool…"

Meanwhile, Tyson nervously walked toward the stage next.

"H-Hello… My name is Tyson Unso."

He scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"I'm new here too… I hope we can all get along."

Compared to the white-haired student's overwhelming presence…

Tyson's introduction was painfully normal.

But somehow—

A few students smiled warmly at him.

Chapter 2 — A Strange Lunch

The next scene shifted back to Class 2-A.

Tyson sat quietly on his bench while looking around nervously.

"Who should I talk to…?"

He rested his chin on his hand.

"Should I just randomly start talking to someone?"

In his old school, Tyson had many friends.

But this place felt completely different.

"Maybe… I won't be able to make friends here."

While he was lost in thought—

A girl suddenly stopped in front of his desk.

"Hey, I think you're the new student, Tyson Unso?"

Tyson blinked in surprise.

Finally… someone talked to him first.

And it was a girl.

"Y-Yeah," Tyson replied quickly.

The girl smiled warmly.

"My name is Elena."

Tyson thought for a second.

"That's a nice name…"

Then he smiled awkwardly.

"You can call me Tyso if you want. My old friends used to call me that."

Elena giggled a little and extended her hand.

"Then nice to meet you, Tyso."

Tyson immediately shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you too."

But suddenly—

The classroom door opened.

The teacher entered.

All the students quickly returned to their seats.

Elena smiled before leaving.

"We'll talk later after class, okay?"

"Yeah!"

The lesson soon started.

Tyson listened carefully with full focus.

Meanwhile—

The white-haired boy near the window was sleeping peacefully during the entire class.

Some students whispered quietly among themselves while others paid attention to the lecture.

Eventually, the class ended and lunch break began.

Students quickly started moving toward the cafeteria.

As Tyson was wondering where to sit—

A boy suddenly called out to him.

"Hey, new guy! Want to eat with us? Come here!"

Tyson looked surprised.

Then he smiled happily and walked toward them.

He sat down beside the group.

"Thanks for inviting me here."

"Don't act so formal," one boy laughed.

"My name is Higo!"

Another boy immediately interrupted him.

"Oi! Let me introduce myself first, idiot!"

"What did you just say?!"

"You heard me perfectly!"

A third boy sighed deeply while watching them argue.

"These two are always like this…"

Tyson couldn't help smiling.

"You guys are really energetic."

The calmer boy finally looked at Tyson.

"My name is Kongo. I use Spiritual Energy."

Then he pointed toward the arguing boys.

"These idiots mainly use Magic Energy."

"Hey! Who are you calling idiots?!"

Tyson laughed softly.

Then everyone looked toward him.

"What about you?"

Tyson scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"My name is Tyson… and I'm a half-magic, half-spiritual, and half-material energy user."

The table suddenly became quiet.

"…That's rare."

"Wait, seriously?"

Kongo looked genuinely surprised.

"So that's why you got admission here."

"Having multiple half-energy attributes is an extremely rare condition."

The two boys stared at Tyson with sparkling eyes.

"Whoa… that sounds awesome!"

Meanwhile—

Tyson's eyes slowly moved toward another table.

The white-haired boy was sitting alone.

Eating quietly.

No friends.

No conversation.

Completely alone.

"He's eating by himself…"

One of the boys noticed Tyson staring.

"Forget about him. That guy's too arrogant."

"Yeah, let's eat."

Everyone prepared to start eating.

But Tyson suddenly froze.

A thought crossed his mind.

"Maybe… he actually likes being alone."

Then Tyson remembered how lonely he himself felt earlier.

"When I was alone in this school… it felt terrible."

He slowly looked toward the white-haired boy again.

"What if he feels the same way?"

"Maybe he's just hiding it."

Tyson quietly stood up while holding his food tray.

"Hm?"

The others looked confused.

"Tyson? What happened?"

"Is there some problem?"

Tyson smiled gently.

"No, not at all."

"I'm actually grateful you guys invited me."

"Then where are you going?"

Tyson looked toward the white-haired boy.

"I think… someone over there needs company more than I do."

The group became silent.

Then Tyson slowly walked toward the lonely table.

The white-haired boy looked up coldly as Tyson placed his tray down.

"Hey."

Tyson sat down casually.

"Let's eat together."

The atmosphere instantly changed.

A dark aura quietly spread from the white-haired boy.

"I have no interest in weak people like you."

His cold eyes stared directly at Tyson.

"Leave."

But Tyson didn't move.

Instead, he smiled calmly.

"Don't worry."

"I'm probably not strong enough to meet your expectations…"

"But at least give me a chance to try, right?"

For a few seconds—

Silence.

Then the white-haired boy slowly relaxed.

"…Fine."

"You can sit."

Tyson smiled brightly.

"Thanks!"

Meanwhile, the three boys from before watched from afar with shocked expressions.

"He actually sat with that arrogant guy…"

"Seriously… that's insane."

"Maybe the white-haired guy isn't as bad as we thought…"

Back at the table—

Tyson looked at him curiously.

"So… what's your name?"

The white-haired boy continued eating silently.

"I don't want to tell you."

Tyson immediately leaned forward with an annoyed face.

"Oi, just tell me already! Why are you acting so expensive?!"
