Law stared at Wolf, trying to understand why that name sounded so familiar.
And then — like a lightning strike — a memory hit him.
— That's it… — he thought. — I've seen him before…
In the depths of his memory, an image surfaced: a pirate with scars on his head. Law remembered seeing him in an anime or maybe a movie. He wasn't sure which one it was, but one thing he remembered clearly—
That pirate had been imprisoned on Level Six of Impel Down.
To be honest, Law barely remembered the movie itself. The only scene that truly stuck in his mind was Hancock bathing. He had rewatched that scene more than once, considering it pure gold, while the rest of the film felt boring to him.
As Law drifted into those foolish thoughts, Wolf watched his face closely, waiting for a reaction. When he noticed Law's strange smile, his expression darkened.
— Is he mocking me…?
SMACK!
Wolf hit Law on the head again.
— Damn old man! — Law shouted, clutching his forehead. — Why did you hit me again?!
— What the hell were you thinking about, you little brat?! — Wolf snapped.
He took a deep breath, calming himself, and continued:
— My captain was called "The World Destroyer" for a reason. His Devil Fruit, the Moa Moa no Mi, was a Paramecia that allowed him to increase the power and speed of any object.
Wolf clenched his fists.
— Bullets, cannonballs, entire artillery strikes… he could turn them into weapons of mass destruction. One volley was enough to wipe out a fleet.
Law listened in silence.
— After the Pirate King's death and the capture of the Golden Lion, the Marines began hunting down the remaining legends.
Their target became the World Pirates.
Wolf paused, gathering his strength.
— We fought Whitebeard…
— And we lost.
— So I was right, — Law said quietly, nodding.
Those words pierced Wolf's heart. He regretted starting this story, yet he continued:
— We retreated back to the North Blue to recover. Byrnndi dreamed of building a giant cannon, powerful enough to destroy entire islands.
Law remembered Mihawk deflecting that cannon with a single strike, but he said nothing.
— We found a ship loaded with metal and gold. It belonged to the World Government. We wanted to abandon the plan… but the captain ordered the attack.
Wolf's voice grew heavy.
— We thought we could escape.
— But it was a trap.
He slowly raised his eyes.
— We were attacked by Admiral Sengoku…
— …and three Logia users.
A heavy silence filled the room.
