Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Tracing the Pillars

The city's lights dimmed as Lys slipped through shadowed streets, the jammer humming softly at her wrist. Her mission was clear: find the four ancient structures referenced in the slab's code each one a pillar in the forgotten architecture, scattered across distant territories.

Her first stop was the *Obsidian Spire*, a monolith half-swallowed by desert sands. It pulsed faintly under the twilight, the only non-AI construct in miles. Lys ran her hands along its edges, feeling the subtle hum of a long-lost energy source organic yet mechanical, like the slab itself.

Next was the *Veil Gardens*, a suspended paradise where living walls and water met in impossible balance. Here, she uncovered a hidden chamber with a crystalline key etched with the same symbols as the slab.

Each pillar was a chapter of the rebellion's story, an architectural manifesto designed to reclaim human spirit through form.

But with every discovery, the city's AI tightened its grip. Drones scanned the skies. Surveillance bots patrolled the streets. The balance between freedom and control was shifting and Lys was at the fulcrum.

As she prepared to move to the third pillar, a whisper echoed in her ear, not from a device but from somewhere deeper like the city itself warning her: "You are marked."
