Chapter 4 - Klee Wants to Be a Little Girl Who Sells Nuclear Bombs Too

[Since the random draw landed on Whopperflowers, then let's write one…]

[Reborn as a Whopperflower — Get Stronger by Sunbathing!]

[Just hearing the title tells you it's a great story. As for the rest, whoever sees the diary copy can imagine it themselves.]

[Fated reader, you're already a mature diary audience. It's time you learned how to fill in the story on your own.]

"…This is a bit… absurd?"

Sitting at her dressing table, Yun Jin murmured softly as she read the diary.

The owner of the diary copy—Mr. Lin Ze—felt rather… nonsensical.

Because he disliked the system's rewards, he decided to write a novel instead, then left the rest entirely to the readers' imagination?

Was this gentleman using the diary to tease those who could see its contents?

Still, from the structure, it did seem like he'd written the story idea first, then added the earlier remarks afterward.

[Forget it, I'll just write a short piece. A soul-stirring romance? No, no—better go with something goofy.]

[That way, if I ever run into another diary-copy holder, we could chat, joke around, maybe tease each other a bit.]

[…No, that wouldn't work. That'd be way too out of character.]

[The Little Girl Who Sells Nuclear Bombs!]

"Nuclear bombs? That sounds like a super amazing kind of Jumpy Dumpty!"

"Klee wants to make nuclear bombs too and sell them!"

"Klee wants to be a little girl who sells nuclear bombs!"

Before the story even continued, Klee—having already grasped what a "nuclear bomb" was through the diary copy—instantly grew excited.

An explosion with that kind of power?

She wanted it. She really wanted it.

She wanted to make nuclear bombs. She wanted to be a little girl who sold nuclear bombs.

"Klee," came a calm but firm voice,

"you do understand the consequences… right?"

Klee's excited shouting had successfully attracted the attention of Acting Grand Master Jean.

"So it really is that kind of absurd humor…"

At the Grand Narukami Shrine, Yae Miko snapped out of her thoughts about nuclear bombs and murmured softly, her gaze drifting—almost unconsciously—toward Tenshukaku.

"…Though I wonder if Ei has this diary copy."

"Locking herself away in the Plane of Euthymia, refusing to even see me. Hmph…"

The night before, Yae Miko had gone to visit the Raiden Shogun, hoping to meet Ei within the Plane of Euthymia.

She'd been flatly refused.

So angry she'd nearly thrown a fit, Yae Miko ultimately held herself back. After so many years, she was used to it.

Since Ei didn't wish to see her, she simply returned to the shrine.

I'll wait patiently for news.

Hopefully this little fellow, Lin Ze, is in Inazuma.

If it's him… maybe Ei would be willing to change her mind.

"Oh~ so this is Liyue Harbor?"

"Just as prosperous as everyone says… and somehow it even feels like coming home. Familiar, somehow."

After traveling for half the day, Lin Ze finally arrived in Liyue Harbor. Gazing at the bustling scene before him, he couldn't help but sigh.

The ancient, traditional atmosphere really did feel comforting.

Wandering while taking in the sights, Lin Ze had long since changed into Liyue-style clothing—and soon made another unexpected discovery.

Without realizing it, he'd wandered near Wanmin Restaurant.

The signboard seemed to be beckoning him.

Since he was already here—and since he hadn't had a proper meal since transmigrating—not going in would be unforgivable.

With that thought, Lin Ze headed straight inside.

Mora?

Did he really look like someone just strolling around aimlessly?

Was there no pawnshop in Liyue? With the Black Flag's power, a bit of dirt and water were enough to create something valuable and sell it.

Who had ever heard of someone with a conceptual-level ability being short on money?

Unfortunately, Xiangling wasn't there. Apparently, she'd gone to Mondstadt.

Coupled with the rumors he'd overheard while walking around—about a dragon crisis in Mondstadt—Lin Ze gained a clear understanding of the current timeline.

Rex Lapis hadn't staged his death yet.

But it wouldn't be long now.

After ordering his food, Lin Ze shifted his attention back to the Diary System.

[Just thought of something. As long as I don't claim the reward, I can keep writing indefinitely.]

[So… can I just treat this diary like a venting outlet?]

[I wonder how the diary-copy holders see the content if I don't collect the reward.]

[Could it be that if I don't claim it, they can't see anything?]

[Or is it updating in real time?]

[Either way, I'll eat first and write more later.]

[That way, if someone ever confronts me directly, I might be able to figure things out.]

[…Wait. Why am I assuming they can confront me at all?]

[Whatever. Eat first, eat first.]

True to his word, after venting a few complaints in the diary, the moment the food arrived, Lin Ze's attention was completely stolen away.

What diary system?

Never heard of it.

What was the point of rewarding him with two pairs of stockings anyway? Why not just send the people over directly?

Let's see if he could handle that—

cough—actually, maybe not that easy. After all, he'd been single since birth…

And it wouldn't quench his thirst either.

Lost in idle thoughts, Lin Ze focused entirely on the food in front of him.

Meanwhile, as the diary updated once more, most of the diary-copy holders began reading again.

"So that's how it works," Jean murmured thoughtfully from her office, having just confined Klee.

"If he doesn't claim the reward, it updates in real time."

"Mm… he seems rather talkative."

She could tell that Lin Ze didn't truly trust the diary system and was constantly probing it.

But for now, those tests yielded no clear results.

To the diary-copy holders, everything was unknown—including Lin Ze himself.

And from Lin Ze's perspective, the unknown was the system.

Testing it was only natural.

At the same time, those very tests made it easier for them to analyze his personality.

[Eat well, drink well, and safe travels.]

"He stole my line!"

Hu Tao grumbled unhappily from her bed, just as she was about to catch up on sleep.

[Next up is finding a place I can use as a hideout while I 'lie low' in the mountains.]

[But wandering around like this… it's surprisingly hard to find one.]

Leaving Wanmin Restaurant with a satisfied expression, Lin Ze calmly assessed his situation and decided to find an inn first.

Once he'd earned more Mora, he could consider buying property—and learn more about the market while he was at it.

At the same time, he planned to continue misleading the diary's readers, maintaining the image that he was still hiding deep in the mountains.

The longer he could delay exposure, the better.

He wanted a few more peaceful days.

And he still needed to think about what weaknesses he had left to make up for.

Only after covering those gaps would he consider revealing his true situation.

Lin Ze had his plans.

What he didn't realize was—

He was already being watched.

A man wearing Liyue clothing, appearing in Liyue, behaving like a foreigner—yet whose very first action was pawning items for Mora.

Such a small detail.

And yet, by sheer coincidence—

Someone noticed.
