"Interesting."
After hearing Ningguang's words, Lin Ze nodded slightly. As expected of the Tianquan—the head of the Liyue Qixing.
To rise from a barefoot girl hawking goods along the streets to her current position… that was no simple feat.
"For your side of things, I do know quite a bit—though there are also things I don't know."
"But honestly, I'm not all that curious. I came here because I want to enjoy life."
"If you have questions, feel free to ask. I'll answer whatever I can."
Lin Ze knew a great deal about Teyvat—though there was even more he didn't know.
Still, what he did know was already enough.
Enough to live very comfortably in this world.
As for the system… there wasn't much left to test. That useless thing wasn't half as reliable as his Black Flag power.
At most, he'd keep it around as a pastime—just in case something unexpected popped up.
His words caused Ningguang to pause, then take another measured puff from her pipe.
There was simply too much she wanted to ask.
So much so that, for once, even she didn't know where to begin.
Knock. Knock.
"Baizhu—notify Liuli Pavilion. I'll be hosting a banquet for an honored guest tonight."
If I don't know where to start, I might as well arrange the rest of the schedule first.
With that thought, Ningguang turned back to Lin Ze.
"There are too many questions. For now, I hardly know how to open."
"Mr. Lin Ze, I'll be hosting a table at Liuli Pavilion tonight. Please don't refuse."
Lin Ze had no intention of refusing. He nodded in immediate agreement.
While Ningguang hesitated, unsure of where to begin—
Keqing, on the other hand, was far more straightforward.
"Mr. Lin Ze, about what you mentioned earlier in the… 'connection'—regarding the Geo Archon being assassinated…"
From there, the conversation naturally shifted to Zhongli's plan to fake his death and relinquish power.
The topic branched outward, discussion flowing freely.
True to his word, Lin Ze answered everything he was asked.
Mainly because none of their questions touched on anything truly taboo.
If they'd asked about things like the past of the sun and moon, that would've been a different matter entirely.
Time passed quietly.
Before long, the sun dipped below the horizon, and the group moved to Liuli Pavilion.
Food was served, and conversation continued over dinner.
It gave Lin Ze a proper taste of Liyue cuisine.
It was quite good—distinctive, with a unique regional flair.
Though compared to the culinary excesses of his previous life, it still fell a bit short.
Even so, Lin Ze enjoyed it.
He was, after all, someone who adapted easily.
"Mr. Lin Ze," Keqing said eventually, steering the topic,
"you mentioned earlier that you wanted to enjoy life."
"May I ask—what exactly do you have in mind?"
Enjoying life could mean many things.
Different worlds, different definitions. Keqing felt it was better to clarify.
"Admire mountains, waters, and scenery. Earn some Mora. Sip tea, taste wine, savor life."
"And then—find a few pleasing beauties to marry, pass on my lineage."
"That would be more than enough."
Lin Ze didn't hide his thoughts.
At least for now, that was exactly what he wanted.
To roam Teyvat's vast landscapes, marry a few beautiful women, raise children, and maintain a modest—though not too modest—household.
"Oh, right."
"Quick question—Teyvat doesn't strictly enforce monogamy, does it?"
He added the question almost as an afterthought.
If Teyvat didn't emphasize one-husband-one-wife, that would truly be a blessing.
If it did, that was fine too.
He'd transmigrated, gained absurd power—by novel standards, he was already protagonist material.
If he didn't want to play the protagonist, surely a peaceful life with wives and children wasn't an impossible dream.
"Teyvat doesn't restrict it," Keqing replied calmly.
"Though most families still practice monogamy."
"Even many large clans do. For example, my own family—my father only has my mother. No concubines."
She didn't find Lin Ze's question offensive and didn't look down on him for it.
While her own family didn't practice polygamy, there were certainly wealthy households in Liyue where the patriarch had multiple wives.
As long as it was consensual, Liyue imposed no restrictions.
"That's good to hear."
Lin Ze nodded in relief.
"Of course, maybe one day I'll find the living conditions here a bit lacking."
"I might introduce a few things from my own world to improve quality of life."
"All things considered, Liyue would still come out ahead."
As long as it's consensual…
Maybe I should start planning. Who should I begin courting first?
Come to think of it… should I return Keqing's and Ganyu's stockings? Maybe both at once?
Muttering to himself internally, Lin Ze glanced at Keqing.
That single glance—
Immediately sparked very different thoughts in the three women present.
Ningguang:
Is Mr. Lin Ze interested in Keqing?
Yelan:
He just confirmed Liyue doesn't enforce monogamy and he's already scouting harem candidates? Truly…
Is someone like this really trustworthy?
He's fine now—but what about later? If his ambitions change, could Liyue withstand it?
Keqing:
Why is he looking at me? Don't tell me he's taken an interest…
We've only just met. Love at first sight?
Keqing didn't believe in love at first sight.
As the Yuheng Star—young, capable, and attractive—she had no shortage of admirers.
Many confessed with talk of "love at first sight."
But Keqing had her own view.
So-called love at first sight was nothing more than lust at first glance.
This Lin Ze might be no different.
Yet his identity was anything but ordinary.
That made things complicated.
How should she handle him going forward?
What if he actually made a move?
Sacrifice herself?
Absolutely not.
"Cough."
"Mr. Lin Ze, this is our first meeting."
"Personally, I don't believe in love at first sight."
"I believe it's simply lust, dressed up in prettier words."
With conflicted emotions, Keqing coughed lightly and spoke—clearly hinting for Lin Ze to back off.
Lin Ze paused, then couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head.
"I don't believe in love at first sight either."
"Calling that 'love' is ridiculous. That's just craving someone's body—vulgar, plain and simple."
"I was just thinking about the diary's reward."
"Should I return it to you?"
"And Ganyu's too, while I'm at it?"
