Elwyn's POV:
I shook my head, feeling both amused and incredulous that I was being pulled into such a wild plan. But maybe, just maybe, the absurdity of it was what made me unable to refuse. I looked at the jacket in his hands and then up at Jackie's confident face.
"I can't believe this," I sighed, feeling a part of me beginning to accept this crazy plan. "You're insane."
Jackie just smiled and pushed the jacket toward me once again. "You might end up liking it," he said, his eyes still shining with the same unshakable confidence I hadn't seen before. "But if you want to face them directly, I'll be right beside you."
I looked at him, feeling the warmth and determination in his gaze seeping into me. As mad as this plan was, I knew Jackie wouldn't let me face it alone. He would be there, standing by my side to confront the people who had belittled me. And maybe, just this once, I wouldn't run.
