Chapter 7 - NOT THAT PROUD OF YOU.

"Where's my son?", Appleford rushed into the hospital and asked the nurse at the counter.

‎ "Name please?", the nurse asked as she looked at the device in front of her.

‎ "Leonardo Appleford", he replied without wasting time.

‎ The nurse srolled on the device in front of her then she looked up.

‎ "He is in VIP ward 13", she said and Appleford ran off.

‎ He ran and when he got to the ward, he opened it aggressively. Apparently, Leo was the only patient who was there.

‎ "What happened to him? How did he end up here?", Appleford asked the doctor who was checking Leo's stats as he worriedly looked at his son.

‎ "Turns out, he had two scopolamine patches on his neck and that's an overdose of what a normal person is supposed to use", the doctor said to Mr Appleford.

‎ How did he get it?, Mr Appleford said in a stressed tone.

‎ "That I don't know. He was beaten up but it's nothing to worry about, cause the beatings did not affect him internally. So he will be fine in the next three days", the doctor said and left.

‎ "Thank you", Mr Appleford said and touched his son's hand.

‎ In Mr Sheldon's mansion, Bruce walked in and his father gave him a round of applause.

‎ Bruce smiled as his father clapped but his father changed his happy expression into a frown.

‎ "Is that how you expected me to react when you decided to beat Leo up and make him end up in the hospital in front of your school mates?", Sheldon asked and Bruce stopped smiling.

‎ "I'm sorry, I just wanted to let people know I am better", he said bowing his head in fear.

‎ "Wow, really? Was that why you had to use an illegal item to make him weak?!, Sheldon asked angrily".

‎ "It's not an illegal item, a doctor prescribes scopolamine patch to patients", Bruce said defending himself.

‎ "Be smart, Bruce, be smart. The organization can't be in your hands if you think like a cockroach", Sheldon said as he walked closer to Bruce.

‎ He held Bruce's cheeks with his two hands and brought Bruce's head closer to his that his forehead touched Bruce's forehead.

‎ "How many scopolamine patches do doctors prescribe to patients for three days?", Sheldon asked as he stared at Bruce in the eye.

‎ "I... I don't know", Bruce replied trembling.

‎ "You don't even know, it is one scopolamine patch for three days. But what did you do?"

‎ "I... I ga...gave him an overdose", Bruce replied as he stuttered.

‎ "And did you get it illegally or legally?", Sheldon asked.

‎ "Illegally", Bruce replied and Sheldon punched him in the guts.

‎ "Good thing you know", Sheldon said and went to seat on the couch opposite Bruce's seat.

‎ "Who else knows about what you did to Leo?", Sheldon asked.

‎ "Brittney and Dalton", Bruce mentioned.

‎ "Can they be trusted?", Sheldon asked.

‎ "Yes", Bruce replied.

‎ "You did a good thing today but when you do something like that, do it where no one would question you or make it a problem for me", he said and Bruce smiled.

‎ "What if anyone finds out?", Bruce asked.

‎ "They won't at all and even if they do, it can be covered up. It will only be said of you that you're a bad child given birth to by a kind parent. This will help me continue running the family without anyone suspecting a thing", Sheldon said with a cold expression on his face.

‎ "Ok, can I go now?", Bruce said.

‎ "Of course, you can. Don't do anything to get me mad at you, understood?", Sheldon commanded.

‎ "Ok, Sir", Bruce said and went upstairs.
