Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 : Chaos Ogryn in heavy armor

Chapter 6 Chaos Ogryn in Heavy Armor

Once Alex's words made the Players realize that the gun in Old Bird's hand wasn't worth much, they lost interest and stopped paying attention.

They only thought about how they needed to be quicker next time they looted spoils, and make sure to get a gun for themselves.

Little Fatty and Zigman were a little disappointed they didn't get Old Bird's gun.

But they remembered that the game had just begun.

There would be plenty of opportunities to get firearms later, so they cheered up.

After this small interlude, Alex led the Players to continue exploring, starting from the Strategic Room.

He had checked the overall layout of the Imperial Glory on the control panel.

He knew there was an armory near the Strategic Room, which contained firearms.

He planned to get some weapons first to arm these Players.

Relying solely on crude weapons like pipes and wrenches wouldn't be enough to regain control of the Imperial Glory.

A moon-class battleship is approximately 5 kilometers long and 0.8 kilometers wide at its widest point, capable of accommodating nearly one hundred thousand crew members.

Even if some people died on the Cadia battlefield.

And a group died in a Warp accident.

And another group was massacred by Warp creatures.

At least twenty to thirty thousand people would still remain as Mutants.

Sixteen people clearing out tens of thousands of Mutants.

Without firearms, even if those Mutants just stood still and let them kill, it would be a huge undertaking.

Moreover, the enemies wouldn't stand still.

There might still be Warp creatures lurking on the lower decks.

Areas like the cargo hold, living quarters, and lower deck were highly likely to contain armed crew members, scavengers (armed elites), and other entities.

Even if these guys were corrupted by Chaos, they would retain the instinct to use firearms.

To defeat those enemies and reclaim the Imperial Glory, they absolutely needed sufficiently powerful firepower.

The armory was not far from the Strategic Room, about three hundred meters away.

The only problem was the numerous Mutants along the way.

The slightest movement would cause them to swarm from all directions.

Roars, blood, and death intertwined.

Bullets tore through flesh, and blades severed sinews and bones.

Alex held an automatic pistol in one hand and a trench shovel in the other, leading the charge at the very front.

Bang!

A Mutant roaring at Alex and baring its fangs had its head blown off by a single shot.

Another Mutant charging over was smashed in the head by the trench shovel.

The brutal force caused its head to burst open like a watermelon, and it twitched as it fell to the ground.

The Players following behind Alex were also fighting fiercely.

They formed small teams, cooperating with each other.

Tenjiro, Old Bird, and Warmaster, the three Players, teamed up and coordinated quite well.

A Mutant lunged, only to be knocked to the ground by Warmaster swinging a wrench.

Tenjiro took the opportunity to step on it, preventing it from getting up.

Old Bird pressed the muzzle of his gun against the Mutant's head, "In the name of the Emperor, I grant you mercy."

After speaking, he pulled the trigger.

The muzzle flashed red, and a ruby-like beam shot out, instantly piercing the Mutant's head.

After a few twitches, the Mutant stopped moving.

"I've leveled up to Level 3, and I also gained the skill 'Firearms Proficiency (Basic)'."

Old Bird's tone was a little surprised.

"I also leveled up, but the new skill I got is 'Warp Siphon (Basic)'."

Tenjiro extended his hands, a faint halo of light enveloping them.

"Oh, so you really are a psychic lunatic?" Warmaster looked at Tenjiro's hands with some surprise, "That's awesome! When will you evolve to the point where you can crush heads?"

"I didn't expect to be a spellcaster either," Tenjiro shook his head, "I guess I'm just a psychic novice; I'll need to be a higher level to learn how to crush heads."

A roar sounded.

Two Mutants howled as they ran from a distance.

Tenjiro turned to look, then instinctively pushed his hands forward.

Invisible force erupted, forming an impact.

The two Mutants were instantly sent flying as if hit by a heavy-duty truck.

Bang! Bang!

The two Mutants slammed into the wall.

Their bones shattered, and they died instantly.

Warmaster and Old Bird were stunned, looking at Tenjiro's hands, then at the flying Mutants.

They shouted in unison.

"Holy crap, that's amazing."

Tenjiro's face also showed a look of ecstasy.

He hadn't expected his psychic power to be so strong!

With a little training, punching Ahriman, kicking Magnus, and rivaling the Lord of Change wouldn't be a dream.

"Heh heh, it's time for this world to experience the humiliation from a spellcaster." Tenjiro was getting a bit overconfident.

"Big brother is mighty! Shi Ci, you must humiliate them ten times!" Old Bird shouted.

Warmaster also cheered along, "Go on, humiliate this world fiercely, young man!"

At this moment, another Mutant rushed out from the corner at the end of the corridor, howling as it charged towards the three of them.

"Big brother, please make your move."

Old Bird and Warmaster instinctively retreated, leaving the stage to Tenjiro.

"Watch me."

Tenjiro was about to repeat his trick, absorbing Warp energy to send the Mutant flying.

Suddenly, his head felt an unbearable sharp pain, as if pierced by needles.

Terrifying laughter echoed in his ears, as if from hell.

The next second, Tenjiro knelt on the ground, clutching his head as if it were about to explode, letting out pained sounds.

This sudden change stunned Old Bird and Warmaster behind him.

The spellcaster who was just shouting about humiliating the world, why did he kneel??

He hadn't even humiliated the world yet! Was he counter-attacked by the world and pressed to the ground to be rubbed??

"Don't abuse psychic power."

With a few gunshots, the Mutant was shot dead by Alex, who had walked over.

He helped Tenjiro up and sternly warned him.

"Your mind isn't strong enough; overusing psychic power will overwhelm you. In severe cases, it could cause your head to explode."

"It looks like this spellcaster has quite a few limitations; he's not the child of the version." Old Bird said with some regret.

"Alright, stop thinking about humiliating the world. Just follow your brothers and shoot well." Warmaster helped Tenjiro up, earnestly advising him, "Playing with psychic power is destined to be unpromising. A man should shoot, and shoot hard."

"I always feel like you're a bit inappropriate!" Tenjiro, with a headache, looked speechless.

The Mutants on the path to the armory were all weak and unarmed.

Under Alex's command, the Players successfully reached the armory door.

He entered the password obtained from the control panel.

The sound of gears turning echoed, and the door opened.

The armory was not large, only about thirty square meters.

Inside were four shelves, filled with a dazzling array of firearms.

The Players, like greedy cats seeing dried fish, rushed into the armory with joy, grabbing their preferred weapons.

"I want this, and this."

Warmaster, quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbed a laser gun and two automatic pistols, hanging them on his waist on both sides.

The other Players followed suit, afraid of taking too little.

"Damn, is this loyal plasma?"

A Player, whom others called Scalp (Night Lords ask if your Scalp itches), excitedly shouted, holding a plasma gun with a blue glow emanating from its handle.

"M35 Magna Plasma Gun, typically used by Cadia Assault Troops." Tenjiro glanced at it, recognizing the model of the plasma gun in Scalp's hand.

"Damn, you even recognize that, awesome." Scalp gave Tenjiro a thumbs up.

"I don't really like playing games and chess; instead, I prefer studying lore and data, so I'm very proficient with equipment, ships, and the like." Tenjiro said, a little embarrassed.

"Concussion grenades, heh heh, give me a few more."

Zigman picked up several grenades and stuffed them into his pockets.

"There are melta bombs, grab them, grab them." Old Bird imitated him nearby.

"Brothers, come on, let's push this big guy out." Little Fatty waved to everyone.

"Damn, this is a multi-barreled laser heavy machine gun, definitely a heavy weapon."

Scalp walked over and found that Little Fatty had found a multi-barreled laser heavy machine gun with a shield, wheels, and a support frame, and his eyes immediately widened.

"Holy Sword MK-III Multi-Laser Gun, a standard multi-barreled laser design. The Gatling of the interstellar age, if this thing is set up in a defensive position, no matter how many Mutants there are, we won't be afraid."

Tenjiro walked up and caressed the cold barrel, his movements gentle, his tone filled with excitement.

"The details in this game are so good, even the binary prayers on the gun barrel are there."

"Come on, push it out!" Little Fatty waved and shouted, "Let those damned Mutants taste the mighty power of the Omnissiah!"

Several Players who were close to Little Fatty helped push the multi-barreled laser heavy machine gun to the door.

This thing was not light; even without batteries, it required two Players to move it.

The Players surged into the armory like looters.

Some guys carried several guns on their backs and had three or four pistols at their waists.

Even with all that, they weren't satisfied, still grabbing grenades, hanging them all over their bodies.

"Enough." Alex stopped the Players from continuing to snatch items.

"These are all the Emperor's property; taking what you need is enough, there's no need to waste."

"These weapons all require a Purification ritual. I will purify them for you once; for the rest, you can go to the shrine and spend Faith Points to purify them."

Hearing Alex's words, the Players let out a wail.

But there was nothing they could do, as Alex held the power to ban them.

They could only obediently put back the extra firearms and ammunition.

Alex used Purification to help the Players expel the Chaos energy from their weapons.

When the Imperial Glory had its accident, the entire ship was exposed to the Warp.

These firearms naturally did not escape, all of them were corrupted.

It was merely a matter of degree.

After the Players had taken their weapons, Alex re-locked the armory and changed the password.

This was his first asset.

It had to be used to trick the Players who would log in later.

With firearms, the speed of clearing Mutants increased significantly.

The Players also generally leveled up to Level 3 in combat, awakening basic skills like Firearms Proficiency.

The few corridors near the Strategic Room were quickly cleared.

After Alex led the Players to clear a group of Mutants, they arrived at the Tactical Projection Hall.

The hall's metal blast door was eight meters high, imposing and majestic.

The door's surface had a large Imperial Aquila relief.

Alex entered the password on the verification tablet.

Accompanied by flashing lights and the humming of gears, the heavy metal blast door slowly opened.

Roar!

A low roar came from within.

Aided by the hall's rotating crimson lights, the Players saw a group of ferocious-looking Mutants and two Chaos Ogryn clad in heavy armor, wielding heavy shields and power mauls.

"Do you know the difference between an Ogryn in heavy armor and an Astartes?"

Tenjiro nudged Old Bird's shoulder with his elbow, asking him a question.

Old Bird looked bewildered, "What's the difference?"

"You got it right, there's no difference."

"That joke is too humorous, not funny at all."

The Chaos Ogryn let out a low roar towards the Players, then rumbled forward in a charge.

The Mutants howled, also surging forward like a tide.

"Open fire!" Alex shouted, and was the first to pull the trigger.

PS: Check out the Ogryn.
