"Let me scan the rankings first and see how top streamers do it."
Serena finished the final preparations before starting her first battle livestream.
When it came to the most popular rooms on PokéTV,
two names stood out immediately.
One was the Paldea-region Gym Leader from Levincia,
the wildly popular internet idol Iono,
with her iconic Electro Stream.
The other was the Galar-region Hammerlocke Gym Leader,
a Dragon-type specialist famous for weather teams—
the equally well-known streamer Raihan.
In terms of sheer strength and battle results,
neither of them could be called the strongest Trainers in the world—
at best, they were among the top tier.
But in online battle streaming,
raw power wasn't everything.
Livestreaming skills,
Trainer and Pokémon appearance,
stream frequency,
and personal charisma
all played massive roles.
For example—
If the Unova League Champion Alder
and Nimbasa Gym Leader Elesa
were streaming at the same time…
Or if both came to Shanghai University to give a lecture—
Logically speaking, Serena should attend the Champion's tactical seminar.
A mysterious voice whispered:
No. You absolutely wouldn't.
Serena:
"…Who said that?"
Oh.
It was her second brain cell.
Never mind then.
"When I really think about becoming a popular streamer,
the more impossible it starts to feel."
"How did those transmigrator seniors break a million followers so easily?"
"This doesn't look like something you can brute-force…"
She rubbed her temples and sighed.
"No point overthinking it.
I'll just start the stream and play."
As the saying went—
Everything is hard at the start.
Then the middle is hard.
And the ending is hard too.
Pokémon Masters EX was a high-tech game built around maximum realism.
Players could choose from:
Matchmaking battles
Ranked battles
Simulated team battles
Free battles using registered Pokémon
The first category required players to acquire or rent Pokémon teams.
There was also a less-than-legal method—
finding a "friend" who'd studied forbidden magic
and asking them to slip illegal Pokémon into your team.
Before transmigrating,
Serena had been that friend.
The second method allowed Trainers to directly scan
their real-world Pokémon,
registered with the Pokémon League,
into Pokémon Masters EX.
That included iconic Pokémon like:
Lance's Dragonite
Steven Stone's Metagross
Cynthia's Garchomp
Diantha's Gardevoir
Leon's Charizard
Each of these Pokémon was unique—
a walking certificate of Champion-level authority.
Thanks to advanced technology—
Rotom devices, Pokédex systems, and digital Pokémon frameworks—
The Pokémon League had no issues with authentication or scanning errors.
This was the Pokémon world's tech level, after all.
As a rookie Trainer, Serena also owned a Rotom Pokédex.
Not a real Rotom inside it—
just a lower-end AI model produced by Silph-style corporations.
Still, scanning her Pokémon into the game
was effortless.
More than enough.
"Then I'll make Dragon Dance Gible my hook
and start my debut livestream on PokéTV."
"Pokémon Masters EX—start!"
This time, it really started.
Why Dragon Dance Gible,
instead of something more "reasonable" like
Dragon Dance Garchomp or Mega Garchomp?
The reason was simple.
Gible was still in its baby stage.
Unless Serena hacked the Pokédex,
hacked the League's servers,
and hacked reality itself—
The scan result would only ever read:
Dragon Dance Gible.
No skipping evolution for better clickbait.
"Charmander, use Ember!"
"Gible, use Sand Tomb!"
In pure rookie free battles—
the so-called beginner pools—
Gible was unstoppable.
Block the lead Pokémon with Sand Tomb,
tank its weak attacks,
stack Dragon Dance twice—
Then finish with Dragon Claw.
Charmander fell instantly.
Pidgeotto followed.
Rhydon followed after that.
One versus three. Clean sweep.
With nothing but her starter Pokémon,
Serena casually wiped the entire enemy team.
"Kapu—!"
Beside the screen,
Gible crossed its tiny arms proudly, chest puffed out.
Wow, I'm amazing.jpg
After all—
The Gible on-screen
was just its digital reflection.
