Killer B had a hole in his gut.
A took the opening. He lunged at Qianyu. While Qianyu dodged, A grabbed B and put distance between them.
"B! You good?" A's voice was tight with worry.
"I'm fine, bro…"
Killer B took his hand off the wound. The hole was already sealing shut.
A breathed out, relief brief before his shoulders tensed again.
He had to admit it. The two of them together? Still not enough. Not against him.
If they couldn't figure out why their jutsu just… died… this fight was over before it started.
"A special ability of the Mangekyō Sharingan?"
A had been groomed to be the next Raikage. He'd studied every known Kekkei Genkai, every hidden technique in the great villages. The Uchiha's Sharingan was on that list.
But the Mangekyō? The files were thin. Uchiha Madara and his brother, Izuna. That was it. Records said the Mangekyō awakened two unique powers. And a third, even more mysterious one.
He had no intel on Qianyu's eyes. But their techniques dissolved the moment they got close. Close combat was their only path.
"B," A said, his voice low. "Jutsu fail within a certain range. So we use that move. We use chakra to propel our bodies. Even if the technique fails, the raw force behind it remains."
Killer B nodded, his face grim. "Got it."
A vanished in a flicker of lightning, reappearing behind Qianyu.
The strongest Lightning Release Chakra Mode flared back to life around A. Killer B's tailed beast cloak thickened, sprouting three tails.
They spoke as one.
"Double Lariat!"
They moved as one. Two bodies became blurs of power, closing the distance in a heartbeat. One from the front, one from behind.
Qianyu's right eye, the Mangekyō, spun wildly.
Dōjutsu: Unseen Summit.
It devoured the details of their technique, the flow of their chakra. Killer B's power—tainted, wild with bijū energy—sped the process up. Fed it. Almost there. Just a little more, and the secondary release would be ready.
A and Killer B were on him. Arms raised high, poised to snap his neck between them in a brutal scissor motion.
And then it happened.
Qianyu's left eye—Dōjutsu: Ten Thousand Rejections—flared. The chakra reinforcing their bodies was severed, rejected into nothingness.
His right eye finished its feast. The record was complete.
A faint smile touched Qianyu's lips.
Checkmate.
"Unseen Summit: Reversal."
Power erupted from his core. A shockwave of pure, violent chakra.
BOOM!
It hit them point-blank. The blast tore outwards, a visible ring of destruction. Trees snapped. The ground vanished. A hurricane of dirt and splinters.
The seven Leaf ninja, hiding far back, were picked up and tossed like leaves.
Silence fell, heavy with dust.
A huge swath of forest was just… gone. A flat, scarred circle of earth.
Qianyu stood at its center, breathing hard. His right hand clamped over his eye. Pain lanced through it, sharp and deep. The aftermath of the reversal.
The power… It was staggering. Several times stronger than anything in his own arsenal. Made sense—the condition to trigger it was harsh. A full record.
The cost was clear too. His right eye was shut. Useless for now.
His left eye scanned the devastation. There. Two bodies on the torn earth, not far away. A and Killer B.
He walked over, his brow furrowed.
They were a mess. Barely recognizable. No inch of skin untouched. Looked deader than dead.
Qianyu's hand went to his sword.
"Thunder Breathing, Fifth Form: Heat Lightning."
A searing, jagged arc of electricity ripped from his blade, slamming into the two corpses.
They wavered. Melted. Transformed into a thick, severed tentacle of octopus flesh.
"A Transformation Jutsu. Of course."
Even his Mangekyō hadn't seen through it. Not in that instant.
But something felt off. They'd attacked from front and back. His blast, centered on himself, should have thrown them in opposite directions. Not left them side-by-side.
He nudged the tentacle aside with his foot. Beneath it—a hole. A tunnel dug straight down.
They'd burrowed out. Escaped.
But that blast… They'd taken the full brunt of it. It would haunt them for a long time.
He wasn't going to chase. His mission wasn't to kill them. Just to stop them. A was the Third Raikage's son. B was the Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki.
Kill either one, and the Hidden Cloud would come at the Leaf with everything. A war of annihilation.
The mission was accomplished.
Qianyu slid his sword back into its sheath with a soft click. He let out a long, slow breath. From a scroll pouch, he produced a blank sealing scroll. With a few practiced motions, he sealed the giant tentacle inside, then turned and walked away.
He passed the seven Leaf shinobi. Their eyes were a mix of pure awe and cold fear.
Awe, because the power they'd just witnessed… It was monstrous. The Blue Lightning and the Killer Bee, working together, had been sent running for their lives.
Fear, because the source of that power was a boy with a gaze colder than winter, who looked at you like you were already dead if you stepped out of line.
They didn't dare speak to him.
Qianyu ignored them. He kept walking, disappearing into the remains of the forest.
Elsewhere, earth broke. Killer B dragged A out of the tunnel, then hoisted his brother onto his back and ran.
A was coughing blood. A ruin of mangled flesh ran from his right chest down to his arm. A grievous, brutal wound.
Killer B looked better. Only slightly. His Jinchūriki healing was already at work, flesh knitting, but it was slow. "Hold on, bro! I'm getting you to base! Just hold on!"
A's voice was a weak rasp. "I'll live, B… You saved me. When the blast came… you had Gyūki shield me with a tentacle. Took most of it… or I'd be…"
He coughed, a wet, painful sound. "…He's strong, B. Faster than me. Stronger. And those eyes…"
He turned his head, his gaze sharpening even through the pain. "He's going to be a problem. A big one."
