Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: Meal Of Recognition

Hammer's Office

When Renjie stepped out of the wormhole and appeared before him,

Hammer found himself unable to describe the man standing there.

The boss at this moment felt more dangerous than ever—

an eerie, terrifying aura clinging to him.

"I just fed your president to the zombies," Renjie said calmly.

"They seemed very happy with the meal."

"I could even feel the pleasure they sent back to me."

Renjie pointed at his own head and smiled as he spoke to Hammer, as if he were cracking a tasteless joke.

Perhaps it was because his true nature had been unleashed.

He had started to smile more often now—

but every smile was chilling to behold.

"B–Boss… what… what did you just say?"

Hammer's mouth twitched as he stared at Renjie, unable to believe what he had just heard.

"I don't like repeating myself," Renjie replied coldly.

He reached out, grabbed Hammer by the collar, and forcibly dragged the timid subordinate in front of him.

"Pass my message to them."

"This is my final warning."

"They know what they're supposed to do."

With a sneer, Renjie tossed Hammer back into his chair.

He shrugged off his bloodstained suit jacket and left the office without another glance.

Hammer slumped in his seat, frozen for a long time before he finally snapped back to his senses.

The first thing he did was call the Vice President, his voice shaking with excitement as he told him everything.

The opportunity had arrived.

His daughter could finally be freed from her disability.

And he—

he would become the nation's next president.

That very afternoon.

The president's motorcade was involved in a catastrophic "accident."

Everyone in the vehicle—including the driver—was blown to pieces.

A certain Middle Eastern organization immediately stepped forward to claim responsibility.

With a heavy heart, the vice president held a press conference, announcing that he would assume office as the new president and that the attackers would pay a terrible price.

The news on television shocked the public.

But the world changed too quickly—almost every day brought something new.

Even without a president, there was still a vice president.

Those at the top, who knew the truth, fell into silence.

They had witnessed Renjie's brutality firsthand.

The power he wielded was enough to destroy the entire world.

These greedy wolves would never dare provoke him again in this lifetime.

As for the people at the bottom, nothing really changed.

Perhaps, with the vice president taking office, their lives might improve a little.

As for Renjie—

He was in an exceptionally good mood.

Hammer and the Vice President had done an excellent job.

He was very satisfied.

With the rats no longer watching him from the shadows, he could finally focus on doing what he wanted.

He brought Thor to the construction site of the Umbrella Tower, which was still under development.

If Thor wanted to live on Earth, he needed a legitimate job.

And there was no job more suitable for him than construction worker.

After all—

he was the God of Hammers.

"You've got to be kidding me, Master!"

"You're really making me—THE God of Thunder—carry bricks here?!"

Thor looked as if he'd seen a ghost, pointing at the construction site in the distance and shouting at Renjie.

Being Renjie's bodyguard was already humiliating enough.

He was a god, after all.

"My Uru metal," Renjie said calmly.

"Your father promised it to me, and it still hasn't been delivered."

"And the dwarf forging techniques.

The runes.

The payment you promised—none of it can be missing."

"And you—don't think I don't know your real motive."

"You came back for that Earth woman, didn't you?"

Renjie raised his hand and twisted Thor's ear,

slowly and clearly reminding the new king of Asgard that a man must keep his word.

"Ah—hey, let go! This is humiliating!"

"I just wanted to see her… I promised I'd return something to her."

"The dwarf forging techniques—you can go to Nidavellir and learn them from the dwarves."

"As for runes, go back to Asgard. The witches there will teach you."

"And Uru metal—Nidavellir has plenty of it."

"All you need to do is call Heimdall. He'll send you there."

Thor spoke while wincing in pain, looking pitifully at his master.

There was nothing he could do—he was simply weaker.

What Renjie had displayed in Jotunheim had earned Thor's genuine respect.

This Earth man was worthy of being his teacher.

Thor had even consulted his immortal friends about it.

In the Eastern world, the proper term for someone who imparts knowledge was "Master."

"That's more like it," Renjie said, releasing him.

Thor rubbed his burning red ear, then asked another question.

"Master… what do you plan to do with Jotunheim, after what happened to it?"

That was what concerned him most.

If his father ever found out how badly Jotunheim had been damaged,

he would surely be heartbroken.

"It's not the time yet," Renjie replied decisively.

He had more important things to do right now.

Bonding with the Supreme Little Superman.

Learning dwarven forging techniques.

Mastering rune inscriptions from the witches.

These were his current priorities.

Thor wanted to say more, but Renjie waved him off, claiming he had a phone call.

"Pierce, what is it?" Renjie asked indifferently.

If this old fox dared say anything out of line,

he would be the next one fed to the zombies.

"Mr. Renjie, I mean no harm," Pierce said carefully.

"The appearance of extraterrestrial civilizations has made us realize the limitations of Earth's technology."

"To prepare for the worst, we've decided to restart a research project that's been sealed away for many years."

"Mr. Renjie… have you ever heard of the Tesseract?"
