Three figures stood side by side on an island, a high class soul being clad in a brown leather waistcoat held by little strings and a blue knicker, the colours had long faded and sand could be seen in every corner of the cloth.
An apprentice soul vampire could also be seen wearing a black skinsuit laced with a few holes and tears, his suit long discarded, he also had a slender figure and seemed to be lighter than air.
Lastly, the last of the three figure was a death knight, a large monstrosity, one who wore armor akin to those worn by roman soldiers in the past during warfare, but his figure was distinct to those soldiers of the past, be it the sheer size of his body or the fact that he held two large double headed axes instead of a large red shield decorated with a metal plate.
Two of the the figures, the death knight and the apprentice soul vampire looked confused, disheveled and worried while the high class soul being looked as aloof as ever.
Floki noticed the expressions on their face and proceeded to tell them the reason why he said they couldn't escape the island. He said:
[As you well know my powers have to do with dreams, a few years when I came here I had a vision showing me that you guys would come to visit me, and also would probably need my help.]
[Since I had no idea when that would happen, I started preparing for this mysterious visit, I placed those large boulders into the river over there, so that you may have a slightly better journey unto my abode.]
[Unfortunately that is when I discovered it, I had come here by foot and had constructed a ketch to move along the deep rivers into this island but while I was moving a piece of my ketch broke off, I thought it was an error in my carftsmanship so I didn't think much of it since I got into the island safely.]
[But when I was placing the boulders underwater...]
Unable to take it anymore, Cord asked:
[Excuse me, did I hear you say "placing the boulders underwater"]
Floki looked at Cord with a clear expression on his face as he said:
[Yh, I placed the boulders underwater.]
As Floki was about to continue recalling recent events, before Cord interrupted him again asking:
[How did you place the boulders underwater?]
Floki was getting frustrated with Cord constantly interrupting him but he replied Cord, saying:
[I carried it with my hands.]
Cord shot a glance at Floki's feeble hands and legs, he shaked his head continuously while trying to figure out how Floki had carried the large boulders into the water, he would have thought Floki was lying had it been Floki's face was looking cheery or he was suppressing a chuckle and if the boulders were not there as evidence.
But Floki's face was calm and clear while speaking and the boulders were there as proof, Cord had no choice but to rely on his imagination when considering how Floki had placed the boulders underwater.
Meanwhile, Floki continued recalling past events in clear detail as he said:
[While placing the boulders underwater, I noticed ripples in the distance.]
[I moved closer,and then I saw a gigantic fin belonging to an enormous animal.]
[At first, I believe I could kill the animal but after battling the unseen monster, placing traps which it evaded easily and risking my life to gain more information on the monster, I was only able to glean bits and pieces of information from it.]
[First, the animal is a gigantic squid, one that even Bigfoot over here can't reach its torso
Second, it seems to be intangible and invisible when it sprays the dangerous blue black liquid all around the river.
Lastly, although it doesn't come out of the water, its arms and tentacles can stretch all around this island.]
Maru had a grim expression as heard all what Folki had said, he churned his eyes as if he noticed a loophole that he could exploit, so he said:
[We were able to arrive safely to the island through the boulders why don't we just return that way.]
Floki smiled mischievously as he said:
[You seem to forget that I was the one that placed the boulders underwater and while placing the boulders underwater I put simple
runes that channel the power of dream while I used the life energy around us as the energy source, so while people can come, I can't go]
Cord finally had a sign of interest on his face as he asked:
[Why don't we just leave him here, I bet we would have more luck convincing Angroboda to come, only God knows what he came to do in this island]
Floki had a bemused expression on his face as he said:
[Try going back; didn't I say we are all trapped here.]
[I was only able to lure the monster to sleep after different trials and through channeling the powers of nightmare which almost took me an entire year.]
Cord looked visibly shocked by what he was hearing but Maru just looked into the horizon before saying:
[We would never leave a friend alone when he needs help, how about we all work together to defeat the monster.]
Cord had a false smile on his face while Floki looked thrilled as he said:
[I'm in.]
Cord croaked in an undertone before struggling to say:
[...You can count... on me too...]
Maru had a crooked smile on his face as he said:
[I might have a plan.]
