Esme's POV
Ritch was leaning on the Haven's main door when Grandus and I arrived. My bodyguard must've been surprised when I suddenly disappeared while he searched for Lilin.
Before my eyes could follow, Grandus was in front of him. "Ritch, you came today? Do you feel okay?" He touched his forehead.
It reminded me of my Uncle checking for my fever. Ritch might actually be a crybaby sometimes. I couldn't picture it yet though.
Ritch slightly moved his head away, but not abruptly enough that it would feel like he rejected Grandus. "I came because the Mistress needed to see the Seventh. I'll leave soon."
He sounded a little grumpy. Grandus dug through the pocket of his silk robe, drew out a shiny silver bracelet, and tossed it to him.
Ritch caught it with a little enthusiasm.
"Pay me a visit sometime." Grandus disappeared down the hallway. "See you later, Mistress."
