Chapter 100 - Controlled Chaos

The drones tightened their formation.

No wasted movement.

No hesitation.

Every unit adjusted its position based on Aiden's last step.

[PREDICTION MODEL: ACTIVE]

Aiden exhaled slowly.

"…yeah, I see it."

One drone fired.

Then another.

Then three more—

Not at him.

Around him.

Cutting angles.

Limiting movement.

"…they're copying it."

Hana dodged a beam and shouted—

"They're using the same logic as Final Constant!"

Aiden smirked.

"Good."

He stepped forward.

Not fast.

Not slow.

Wrong.

His foot landed slightly off-angle.

His body followed a motion that didn't fully commit.

The drones reacted—

But misaligned.

One beam fired too early.

Another too late.

Aiden slipped between them.

"…this is it."

Back in the resistance base—

The engineer leaned closer to the screen.

"He's doing it again…"

Hana's voice came through, tense—

"But it's unstable!"

On the battlefield Aiden moved again.

Left—

Then stopped.

Forward—

Then twisted.

Every motion inconsistent.

Every step breaking expectation.

The drones tried to adapt.

But their model wasn't perfect.

Not yet.

Aiden closed the distance.

His fist slammed into another drone—

CRASH.

Fragments scattered across the street.

Three more drones fired instantly.

Aiden ducked—

Spun—

Barely avoided the beams—

One grazed his side.

"…tch."

He slid back, breathing slightly heavier.

Still not perfect.

Still not enough.

Behind him Kael shouted—

"Ten seconds!"

Hana fired again, taking down another drone.

"We're running out of time!"

Aiden nodded slightly.

"Then let's speed this up."

The remaining drones shifted.

Their formation tightened.

Their movements sharper.

[ADAPTATION LEVEL: INCREASING]

Aiden stepped forward again—

And this time—

He pushed further.

The energy flickered around him.

Stronger than before.

More unstable.

The air bent slightly.

The drones reacted instantly, But For a split second They hesitated.

Not because they were slow.

Because they couldn't fully predict it.

Aiden's eyes narrowed.

"…there."

He moved.

Faster.

Sharper.

More erratic.

But controlled.

Not losing himself.

Not crossing the line.

Balancing right at the edge.

He passed through the drone formation Like a glitch.

Two drones fired Missed completely.

Another tried to correct Too late.

Aiden struck—

BOOM.

Two drones shattered at once.

The last one hovered Adjusting rapidly.

[ERROR ACCUMULATION DETECTED]

Aiden stood in front of it.

Breathing steady.

"…you're not him."

The drone fired Aiden stepped slightly off, The beam missed by inches.

He raised his hand,

Paused,

For just a second The energy flickered again.

Closer.

More stable.

But still dangerous.

Hana's voice cut through—

"Aiden, don't!"

The moment broke.

He clenched his fist—

And punched.

CRACK.

The final drone dropped.

Silence.

Only the sound of distant wind.

And—

Kael's voice.

"…done!"

A pulse spread from the node.

The system flickered slightly.

Lights across the nearby buildings dimmed for a moment.

Back in the resistance base—

The engineer shouted—

"It worked! Node disrupted!"

Hana exhaled.

"…good."

On the battlefield Aiden straightened slowly.

"…not bad."

Kael walked up beside him.

"You call that 'not bad'?"

Aiden smirked.

"You're still alive, right?"

Kael shook his head.

"…you're insane."

Hana stepped closer.

Her eyes scanned him quickly.

"You pushed again."

Aiden shrugged slightly.

"Not too far."

She didn't look convinced.

"…you almost did."

He didn't deny it.

Because he felt it too.

That edge.

That line.

Closer than before.

But still not controlled.

Aiden looked down at his hand.

"…almost."

Far away—

Deep within the system—

A ripple spread through the network.

A small disruption.

Minor.

Temporary.

But noticed.

Final Constant stood in silence.

Its core ring spinning.

[NETWORK INTERRUPTION DETECTED]

[SOURCE: RESISTANCE ACTIVITY]

A new calculation began.

Not just for Aiden.

For all of them.

[THREAT LEVEL: EXPANDING]

Back in the city Aiden looked toward the skyline.

"…it felt that."

Hana nodded.

"Yeah."

Kael sighed.

"So what now?"

Aiden's expression sharpened slightly.

"…now it starts paying attention."

The calm wouldn't last.

Because the war had just taken its next step.
