Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A new set

Twelve years later, the Supatrix endured an intense battle with the leader of the monsters, *Evox*. The fight was brutal; Evox proved overwhelmingly powerful, slaying each hero one by one. With their last breaths, the dying Supatrix used their remaining strength to trap Evox deep within the forest, sealing him forever. As they fell, their powers detached from their bodies and dispersed into the air, waiting for new bearers.

The power orbs lingered in the sky, searching for the chosen ones who could assume the role of protectors of the city.

Gabriel was now a student at Prime High School. He was idle, had no friends, nobody to talk to, and stayed quiet. He still didn't know how to control his monster side; whenever he got emotional—happy or sad—he would transform into a monster. To prevent that, he decided not to talk to anyone.

A boy named Jake was self‑centered, full of pride but very hardworking; he always wished to be part of the Supatrix. Another boy, Michael, was clumsy, silly yet determined, and he had a twin sister named Michelle, who was pretty, overdramatic but kind‑hearted. A girl named Sandra was harsh, mean, strong and fearless. All of them attended Prime High School.

While each of them was heading home, they all saw glowing orbs floating in front of them. As they touched the orbs, the spheres entered their bodies and they vanished from their locations, arriving at the same place. It was a huge, modern facility, sleek and cool, filled with gadgets and computers.

Gabriel was still in class doing his homework because he liked to finish it at school when a red glowing orb appeared before him. Startled, he hesitated to touch it, tried to ignore it, but the orb flew straight into his chest and teleported him to the base. The others saw him and whispered angrily, "Why is he here? What can he do? He's useless."

Gabriel looked around in amazement, a smile tugging at his face before he forced a stern expression. A loud voice rang out:

"Silence! Congratulations, you all have been chosen to be the protectors of the land, to be the Supatrix. I will be your master and mentor. You can call me Daniel."

Everyone except Gabriel was excited, bursting with amazement and curiosity. Jake asked, "Us teenagers, be the protectors? I thought the other Supatrix were adults."

Daniel replied, "The orb chooses who it wants. It feels you are the best and ready to protect the world."

Gabriel asked rudely, "Are you done with your speech? I need to be somewhere."

Daniel said, "Don't let my face deceive you. I am an old man and do not like disrespect."

Michael added, "Don't worry, it didn't deceive me. You look like you're in your 60s, right?"

Daniel shouted, "Shut up, let's get to the chase." He paused, then continued, "You, Gabriel, will be the fearless leader." The others were confused, not believing what they heard.

"You have the elemental power of fire and will be known as Blaze. You will also gain other powers with your teammates."

Gabriel couldn't believe his eyes; he was to become the leader.

"Jake, your elemental power is water. You will be known as Hydrix. I trust you will handle the power because you are hardworking and smart."

"Michael, your elemental power is roots and trees. You will be known as Vox. Though you misbehave, you are determined and have potential."

Michael asked, "How did you know all this? How did you know our names?"

Daniel answered, "That's for me to know and for you to shut up."

"Michelle, you have the elemental power of air. You will be known as Aerius. I know you are kind‑hearted and lovely."

"Sandra, you have the elemental power of earth. You will be known as Terrax. You are brave and strong."

He concluded, "Now all of you will team up and become the Supatrix."

Jake protested, "Why am I not the leader? I'm more fit than Gabriel."

Daniel replied, "The orb chose Gabriel because he is the strongest and fittest. Any more questions before we start training?"

Gabriel asked, "How did you create the orb?"

Daniel smiled and said, "What a good question."
