Chapter 29 - Train Upgrade Materials

[Listening to Jade's explanation of how her talent worked, you couldn't help but be surprised that her innate talent was different from her real-world Terra counterpart.]

[It should be known that even King King from the Global Ocean Survival World has the same talent as his real-world counterpart.]

['Maybe the Train Survival World has more alternate world aspects compared to the Global Ocean Survival World? Jade in the Global Ocean Survival World may have the same talent as her real-world counterpart, but I didn't know since I haven't met her in that simulation.']

[Regardless of what you thought, you were still surprised that Jade possessed such high-ranking talents. Hearing about her SSS-rank Equivalent Exchange talent made you think of ways to use it.]

[Before you could experiment with Jade's talent, you and she heard a notification sound that interrupted both of your thoughts.]

[-Ding!]

[{The train will now arrive at its mandatory station stop in an hour from now!}]

[{Unlike Extreme Events, station worlds won't be the same for each Train Conductor Duo, so Train Conductors from other duos will never meet in the station world.}]

[{The only exception to that is if it's a Multiplayer-type or special-type of station that requires cooperation with another Train Conductor Duo.}]

[Faced with that notification, you and Jade were startled. The two of you knew that there'd be a mandatory station stop, but you both didn't expect to be this fast.]

[Fortunately, there was an hour left to prepare.]

[Without any hesitation, you decided to make use of your Train Conductor Authority to check the information of the train.]

{Starter Train}

{Level: 1}

{Durability: 9/10}

{Speed: 30 km/h}

{Upgrade Requirements: Common Wood x100, Common Metal x100, Basic Gears x30}

{Train Abilities: None}

{Train Modules: None}

[You noticed that the train's durability was one point less. It was likely when you punched the metal train wall to test the amplification from your Fairy King of Multiplication power.]

[However, it didn't bother you as you easily repaired it back to 10/10 by touching the metal train wall and using your Repairman (Purple) talent.]

[Seeing you repair the dent on the metal train wall with just a single touch, Jade asked curiously, "Is that your innate talent?"]

[In response, you answered, "Well, yes, but not all of it. It's merely one of my talents."]

[This was merely a simulation, so you weren't that wary of Jade. And since the two of you were going to work as Train Conductor Duos, you knew that it was best to give her some trust.]

[Jade didn't know why you had more than one innate talent.]

[She had checked the regional chat group and knew that all of them who chatted and revealed their innate talents, only had one. Even she only had one, even if it was an SSS-rank one.]

[However, since you didn't say more, she didn't ask. She assumed that you likely were different from others and were one of the few exceptions.]

[Like Jade, you had also checked the regional chat group. However, most of them were wailing and complaining about either having weak talents, or wanting to go back to normal life.]

[There were even ones who got paired up randomly and either killed the other, or if it's a male and female duo, the stronger one raping or enslaved the other.]

[Those who paired up due to good familiarity, like husband and wife, couples, mutual crushes, siblings, etc., were faring much better, but there were still a few exceptions that had some disagreement.]

[You ignored them as you knew that they wouldn't be able to live long, especially with the Extreme Event being a thing.]

[After checking the regional chat group for a while, you were quite disappointed that King King wasn't in the same region as you.]

[You and he could be considered as sworn brothers in the Global Ocean Survival World, so you knew him well, and his innate talent was quite useful.]

[Since you can't rely on his daily intel, you closed the regional chat group.]

[Using your Unlimited Food Creation (Gold) talent, you created a bunch of food supplies like boxes of water bottles and canned goods.]

[Ignoring Jade's amazement, you asked her, "Can you use your Equivalent Exchange talent to exchange what I created for Common Wood, Common Metal, and Basic Gears?"]

[You had already tried using your raft upgrade materials to fill in the upgrade requirements. However, to your disappointment, your Train Conductor Authority doesn't register them as proper materials, so they couldn't be used.]

[You presumed that the raft upgrade materials were tainted by the world laws of the Global Ocean Survival World, so they weren't compatible with the Train Survival World.]

[Jade nodded and immediately touched the box of canned goods.]

[As she used her talent, her eyes lit up in excitement, "They can be used! I can exchange a box of canned goods for either 100 Common Wood, 100 Common Metal, or 20 Basic Gears."]

["Do you want me to exchange all these supplies for enough materials for a train upgrade?"]
