By sunrise, almost everyone in Slik City knew that something terrible had happened during the night.
They did not know the full story.
That did not stop them from talking about it.
The streets around Iron House were the first to become crowded. People came from nearby districts to look at the damage, but very few dared approach the estate itself. City guards had already blocked several roads after seeing what remained of the surrounding buildings.
From a distance, the destruction was enough to create hundreds of different rumors.
One side of Iron House had partially collapsed. The main courtyard was covered with cracks large enough for a person to place an arm inside. Several nearby walls had broken from pressure alone. Windows had shattered across the neighborhood, while pieces of roof and stone were scattered across streets that had never been directly attacked.
The people who had hidden inside their homes during the battle came out first.
They had felt everything.
