Just a second away from the target he was aiming for, the beast dug its clawed feet into the stone, causing deep cracks to immediately grace the earth.
Then, with a forceful push, it lunged at the boy, clearly intending to impale him. At the last possible moment, Ray twisted his body.
His blood splattered on the ground as he was forced to let go of his injured side to move.
In one fluid motion, he drove his fist into the side of the creature.
His gauntlet now showed thin cracks across its surface due to the impact with the spikes, but fortunately, the weapon's protection held, and he remained uninjured by the beast's natural armor.
