Meanwhile, Heavenly Eye had begun to laugh. She seemed to be laughing at an inside joke that no one was privy to. At least, Black Chains didn't see anyone else laughing.
He knew that she was a lost cause anyway, so he ignored her and said to Tepid Scholar, "Pick something else. I am willing to give you anything else other than one of the foundations of my power."
Tepid Scholar was silent for a while as he was deep in thought. When he spoke up two seconds later, he said, "No. I've made up my mind."
Before Black Chains could flare up again, Martial Will interjected, saying, "Allow me to take this opportunity to make my own demands. I am not Tepid Scholar. I too have needs, and they are not the same as those of that wimpy scholar."
