Unlike with Tommy, Muni didn't cheat. He received exactly what he paid for, and he didn't even need a contract for it.
Unfortunately, all the money he spent on these things was a waste because the recipe is a method for upgrading the Telekinesis Metac, not a recipe for upgrading the Fenrir Metac. So his only chance to upgrade Fenrir is to make it a rank 2 version of at least one of the Core Metacs that it has eaten.
He doesn't mind that he has to feed a rank 2 Core Metac to Fenrir. In fact, he likes this method because it is simpler and shouldn't have any risk of failure, unlike the normal upgrade process of Core Metacs.
So he was quick to find a way to get the rank 2 Core Metac from other people. His quest has also been successful since he already knew someone with the rank 2 Core Metacs that he needed.
From there, it was easy to get up to the target to kill them. Since he was ambushing them, he was able to overcome the gap in their strength to kill them.
Thanks to planning and ambush, he has been able to kill Tommy many times. Not even Tommy's last-ditch effort to foil his plans by self-detonating all of his Metacs before death was able to stop him.
He can prevent the Metacs he has his eyes on from exploding by using the Seal ability on them. Since he could only produce one mark at this point, he could only protect the Core Metac this way.
Anytime he tried to kill Tommy, he would lose the other Branch Metacs in Tommy's possession because of the self-destruction. He didn't mind this because he was mainly after the Core Metac.
So the problem was never about how to kill Tommy or how to protect the rank 2 Core Metac within him. The problem he hasn't been able to solve is that he has never been able to have enough time to devour the rank 2 Core Metac within Tommy.
The rank 2 Core Metac has begun to germinate throughout Tommy's body. It has merged with the energy well and grown a large network of vessels throughout the host.
This situation is why Core Metacs stop being changeable at rank 2. But it also means that it will take a long time for Fenrir to drag out the Core Metac from Tommy's body and devour it.
He has never had that time to devour the rank 2 Core Metac because the surrounding people will always interfere with him and stop him from enjoying the fruit of his labor.
He has tried many things to solve this problem, such as taking Tommy somewhere discreet to kill him. Unfortunately, Tommy won't follow him anywhere. So he has not been able to solve the problem.
Right now, he is thinking about using some Branch Metacs on the Mind Hunter Pathway to affect the minds of everyone in the market and make them ignore him.
He has asked around and learned that there might be a way to achieve this. Unfortunately, he has not been able to find the Branch Metac capable of this.
This is what he was thinking about as he left the assembly for his lodgings. As for the matter of the competition, he doesn't care about that at all.
If they were offering a rank 2 Core Metac as a reward, he would be very interested in the competition. Unfortunately for him, they can't offer such a reward because Core Metacs rapidly degrade after the death of their host, even if their host doesn't intentionally destroy them during their death.
Only Branch Metacs can survive the death of their host and don't need a living body to sustain their existence. That is, of course, if the host doesn't intentionally destroy them while they are dying.
Since he can buy any Branch Metac he wants and since he can't take Branch Metacs with him when he reverses time, he can't care about the reward for the competition of the things that the societies can give him.

Aside from these two things, his willpower and even soul have increased, too. He has even gained 12 Branch Metac belonging to three different pathways.
Anyone who sees his state of existence will say that he has done well with himself. He also believes that he has done well. But he has also become more urgent about how well he does because he noticed that his age has increased far more than it should have.
He started the initiation program at the age of 19. Now that it has been a year, his age should be 20. But his age is 22, an extra 2 years old.
