Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: Tony: I Found Some Dirt on Captain America!

"Destroyed a vampire nest? That sounds fun! I'm in!"

When Tony received the call, he agreed without hesitation.

He had been indulging in his superhero lifestyle lately. After all, who didn't know that Tony Stark was Iron Man?

He was cool, rich, and charming—so much so that even playgirls stared at him like they might faint from excitement.

Being a superhero came with responsibilities, so a little indulgence in private life was only fair, right?

After the call, Tony arrived at the meeting point.

Steve showed up a few minutes later on his motorcycle. He had only rested for ten minutes, yet he looked completely recharged.

The Super Soldier Serum really was something else.

Tony, already in his Iron Man armor, sat on top of a giant donut sign, eating freshly baked donuts.

Steve leapt high, using his enhanced strength and agility to easily reach the rooftop.

He grabbed a donut without hesitation and snatched up an unopened can of Coke.

"Wait for my signal later," Steve said calmly. "Be restrained and don't destroy anything inside. My wife still needs to inherit the family fortune."

"Which wife?" Tony asked, reaching for his Coke—only to realize it was gone.

"Hey! Where's my Coke? I just bought that!"

Steve downed it in one gulp, tossed the empty can back to him, and grabbed the entire donut box.

"My vampire wife, Nissa. I'm planning to marry her around Christmas."

Tony blinked, his genius mind struggling to process what he just heard.

Sometimes Steve was saving people, sometimes he was stealing his Coke, and now he was talking about vampire wives.

Was the captain crazy—or just messing with him?

"Hold on, let me get this straight," Tony said, raising his hands. "We're going to rescue someone now… your wife? Nissa?"

"That's right."

"Wait, dude. Isn't your wife Pepper Potts?"

Tony's expression suddenly turned sly. He had caught the captain red-handed!

Steve just looked at him, calm as ever, as if he could already read Tony's thoughts.

"Yes," he said simply.

Bang!

Tony clapped his hands together, grinning like a villain who'd found a secret weapon.

"Hahaha! Old Popsicle, you're two-timing! I'm going to tell Pepper! I'm also going to leak this to the press—New York Magazine will love it!"

Steve rolled his eyes.

"I have many wives, and I plan to marry them all. Oh, and I need to pick out rings too—at least ten of them. Maybe more.

As for the wedding, I'll keep it simple—just close friends. Should I invite reporters? Maybe. But we'll need extra time for all the honeymoons. So many brides, so little time."

Tony stared blankly as Steve started counting on his fingers.

This guy wasn't joking. He actually meant it.

Captain America—America's greatest hero—was planning to marry multiple women.

Tony's brain short-circuited.

Who am I? Where am I? Why do I feel like I'm being attacked for being single?

Once again, he was on the losing end of their banter.

"By the way," Steve asked, "did you kill that vampire you captured last time?"

"No! Of course not," Tony said quickly. "I was just… researching. I'm a serious scientist!"

His eyes shifted away, clearly guilty.

They both knew the truth, but neither said it out loud.

When Steve stepped into the vampire castle again, he immediately noticed Chad Norma lying in ambush on the rooftop.

He had secretly called his brother-in-law for backup.

On the surface, he had only contacted Tony, but behind the scenes, he'd set another plan in motion.

In the distance, a special forces team led by Crossbones was lying in wait—armed with rocket launchers and anti-tank weapons. The firepower was more than enough.

It wasn't about having fun—it was about showing the right attitude when rescuing his wife.

At the underground gate stood Hart, wearing sunglasses that looked suspiciously familiar.

He looked like Blade.

"Welcome, Captain. Please come in. The master has been waiting for you," Hart said.

Steve didn't even reply. He kicked the massive stone door—three tons of solid rock—clean off its hinges.

Behind the door, a squad of elite vampire guards raised their weapons, but before they could react, they were instantly wiped out.

Realizing the situation was hopeless, Hart turned and fled.

"Master," reported the AI voice of Edith, "traces of the Blade have been detected in the underground laboratory. His life force is weak."

"Oh? Keep an eye on Nissa's location," North ordered.

"Chad Norma has gone to her rescue. Lady Nissa is safe," Edith replied coldly.

North, observing from the lab, showed no panic. Instead, he smiled with disdain.

If Steve Rogers was really this reckless, then perhaps he wasn't as legendary as people claimed.

North had seen stronger men before—like Isaiah Bradley, the black super soldier created in secret decades ago.

He turned to the vampire Fess, who was emerging from a containment chamber. A researcher shone a high-powered ultraviolet lamp at him.

For ten minutes, Fess didn't react—no pain, no smoke. His expression was blank, controlled by a chemical suppressant.

North's grin widened. The transformation was perfect—far better than his previous creation, Chad Norma.

"That's right, Fess. Go kill the intruder. I'll adopt you as my son. From now on, call me Father."

"Yes," Fess said mechanically.

The next second, he ripped off a scientist's arm and sank his fangs into it, draining him dry.

Chaos erupted.

Screams filled the corridors as groups of vampire guards fell one after another, blood pooling beneath them.

North turned, shocked to see Chad Norma entering—his face smeared with blood.

"Look at you!" North shouted. "Such an ugly, shameful sight! Fess, kill him!"

Fess roared and lunged forward.

North had already completed his experiments; this defective son was now expendable.

But Fess didn't obey. He clawed North aside, sending him crashing into the wall. Blood poured from the vampire lord's mouth as he glared up in disbelief.

"You old bastard!" Fess snarled, his claws lengthening. "I've tolerated you long enough! If I die, he dies too! Steve Rogers will die!"

Hatred burned in his eyes.

He remembered the woman he loved—the one Captain America had killed with a single punch. Even resurrection was impossible.

The hatred of a man who lost his wife could never be forgiven.

Now, Fess and Chad Norma clashed—two monsters, each mutated in different ways.

Their punches cracked stone, their claws tore through flesh. Blood splattered everywhere as the castle shook from their battle.

Meanwhile, deep underground, Steve found Blade.

The Daywalker had been drained of blood continuously since his capture. Only his unique physiology kept him alive.

Even so, he was on the verge of death—his body cold, his breath shallow.

No medicine could save him now. All Steve could do was try to keep him from slipping away.
